OMG, Pat Boyle just said there would be an injury update on Tyrus Thomas and its NOT GOOD! OMG God damit, he has a broken nose.... He will be out tomorrow. Gosh he is the funnest player to watch on this team.. Kind of takes the energy out of me for even watching them. Not surprising, I thought that was what happened immediately to be honest. Get him the Rip Hamilton mask, but that still sucks. |

In terms of raw athlete I'll go, since that's more fun to debate NBA: LeBron, but Amare woulda been close before the knee injury NFL: Michael Vick and Urlacher....I can't pick one MLB: Grady Sizemore or Carlos Beltran NHL: Martin Havlat, lol In terms of best player NBA: I still take LeBron. Dude does everything but drive the bus NFL: Steve Smith MLB: Pujols NHL: Martin Havlat, lol |

He's a hell of a talent, but I'm just not sure where he'd play. Between Thabo, Tyrus to an extent (he'll play some 3), Luol and Andres at the 3, Ben and Kirk at guards, Duhon at guard......I'm just not sure how he'd get minutes. |

I know its only 2 preseaon games... but Curry is averaging around 20pts, staying out of foul trouble and playing big minutes... Is the lottery pick still a lock? My Greg Oden fantasies are getting fainter... Oh yeah.... and Thomas was a stud against the grizzlies... what is he averaging 2? 3 blocks a game? I'm not counting on Greg Oden to be honest, even if they are awful. Even if they are a borderline playoff team, this draft is so deep that you could get an Al Horford or Josh McRoberts. Of course, I'd prefer we get a top 3 pick and get Noah or Oden, but with the depth of this draft, the only drop off is Oden and everybody else IMO. We need to get a legit 4 or 5 scoring type stud though with this pick IMO. |

I still think Viktor and Darius are a lot different, as Viktor has a way deeper aresenal and higher ceiling as a player, but that's just my opinion. And although this is only preseason, expect that trend like this game where 6 guys got 10 points plus and a 7th had 9 to continue, this team is amazingly deep and talented. |

Viktor to me is more of another Nocioni rather than a songalia, he just seems like a really hard worker Not to diss Nocioni, but Viktor has a lot more talent than him. Nocioni gets by on being a nut job really, although his shot is getting much better, which is why I think he might really bust out this year. But yeah, the Songalia comparision is silly, they are not the same at all except both are 6'9 Euro's that can shoot. |

A little off topic... Any thoughts on whether the NBA should adapt the college rule and count technical fouls towards a players six personal fouls? It would be a great way to bring down arguing and techincal fouls, I actually think they should do it. As for the refs, they've ALWAYS been awful, so that's different. |

Also, everybody is going to compare Khryapa to Songalia since he's a light skinned Euro who is tall and can shoot, but ignore it. Victor has a FAR higher ceiling and is way more versatile. |

Is that the season opener? Yeah I would of thought Tyrus would have much more to improve upon than Sefolosha but your right Sef didnt look very good at all today. Thats why we got our vets and wont have to worry about them untill next year or the year after. Yeah, it is. I'm not surprised about Thabo though. Tyrus played 6 high level games against good competition last March, and is incredibly gifted naturally, so even though he's raw, he'll make an impact just with his God given talent. Thabo played in Europe and has a lot more work to do to adjust to the NBA game since he's not as naturally gifted, however what I did see of him tonight, he looks like he can play the point, and he's a very good looking defender who can defend the 1 through 3, so he will make an impact. People just need to be patient with both of these guys, they are only 19 and 20 years old, and they are talented, but it will take time. |

He's going to be similar to Tyson on offense, except worse on free throws, BUT he will dunk all those balls inside that Tyson was scared and passed on/dropped the ball. I have Ben as a guy that will be good for 10 points/12 boards a game this year, I think he'll score about 10 a game for us. But we need to keep him away from the free throw line, although he will draw some fouls, which will get us in the penalty earlier, which is a plus. |

Kirk got a T tonight in an obvious example of the new rule. I personally like this rule, assuming they enforce it. The whining in the league has been awful the last few years. |

Nocioni, Deng and Khryapa all looked very impressive IMO. Big Ben was surprisingly active and energetic for a meaningless game, which was nice to see, and Ben and P.J. are going to help this team way beyond even what the box score shows you. Thabo has a LONG way to go, and I think Tyrus will make more of an impact early on. Tyrus still has a lot of work to do, but he will get a lot of rebounds and blocks, and looks like he should make some free throws. All forms of shooting sucked tonight for us, and you could tell the communication was affecting the defense in a negative way, but overall for the first preseason game, we looked ok. The fact that Andre Barrett, who will be gone in 2 weeks, hit the game winner tells you all you need to know about this one. I'm still terrified of how bad this team will be at the free throw line, but I can't wait for Miami and Halloween. |

QUOTE (Bullieve It @ May 30 2006, 05:45 PM) I dont like any of our picks they have us taking at 16 Leon Powe reminds me A LOT of Elton Brand, and Cedric Simmons is pretty solid as well IMO and can help right away. Armstrong and Gray are both HORRIBLE though, Armstrong did nothing at UConn until last year and Gray could not play against anybody near his size. No thanks. I still want the Bulls to trade down at 16 and take Ager in the low to mid 20's. |

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 5 2006, 09:36 PM) Drafting Tyrus Thomas will be the worst mistake that any team who drafts him has ever made. If the Bulls draft him, I foresee it being worse than Tyson/Brand. Yep, he's Stromile Swift 2.0, even went to the same school. |

QUOTE (Bullies4Life @ May 3 2006, 09:25 AM) So why does every1 hate Chandler?? Part of this is Paxson's fault for giving a player who has never lived up to potential a HUGE contract, but my problem with Tyson is he has stone hands, can't shoot or score points, takes stupid fouls, is too weak to guard the tough inside players, and isn't consistent enough getting rebounds and blocks. Oh, and we gave up Elton Brand (yes, Krause's fault, but doesn't change the fact) to get him. Other than that, he's fine. |

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 3 2006, 06:59 AM) I dont give a spiff. I think he is an actor. He did the same thing, in almost the exact same way, at almost the exact same time last year. They even showed it on TNT, game 5 vs the Pistons. And yes, I have had a hip pointer. Wade cracked 2 ribs last year, a way worse injury than a hip pointer, despite the fact a hip pointer also hurts like hell. |
