I'm on board with trading Ben Gordon, simply because of Hinrich's defensive ability. think, move Deng to play SG, Tyrus Thomas at SF, Pau Gasol (Kevin Garnett? - I wish) at PF and Ben Wallace at C...recipe for success or no? Kirk can distribute, contrary to your opinion, so he'd mesh fine with Ty Thomas.

Kirk....it's hard for me to explain my opinion on this, but he seems like he's a newspaper reading, believe in the hype type player. And the writers in Chicago LOVE Captain Kirk. If he plays a good game, you better believe he will dang near single handedly blow the next one trying to do too much. During that 12-1 Piston run last nigth, his signature run and gun / fouls was all over that. And he has done it more times than I care to think of his whole career. Kirk is an average player with better than average defensive skills who happens to be on a team that thrives on defense. I really wouldn't mind keeping him, but not as a PG. And I do believe one of the two (Gordon) has to go. Either one would be fine with me; make room for Tabo who could be better than both of them with about 100 extra shots a practice...

the refs were the worst mad.gif

Oh man!! I can't even blame that on the refs! Up 8 with 2+ minutes to go? Lack of togetherness if you ask me. But all of these posts seem on point. My view is Nocc needs to start over PJ, PJ needs to back up the Body, Sef needs more PT, Thomas needs to hurry up and get acclimated to the game and learn to play in the paint, Kirk needs to play superstar minutes. Duhon had a meltdown for sure, but he shouldn't have been in the game UNLESS Gordon fouled out (which I can't remember if he did). We still have the stuff to go a long way. WE just need to revamp the rotation IMO...

That was sweet man. Don't listen to the egg heads with no sense of humor. Regardless if it was in the midst of the playoff run or now, this was a goods idea and a good 'change of pace' post. I love it! You're jammin!!

yea Paxson did say he is looking for someone to help out our frontcourt but its no one that is/can be available now but in an interview he said he has agonized about all that for weeks. He said he's getting ready to head for a remote island with his wife. No TV, no phones, no computers. No golf course. Just lots of blue water and beach. "I've got four or five books I want to read," he said. So to me that lets me know the guys that he want r not available. I think the guy he wanted was Nene rather than Gooden but he can not b traded till October so y not go on vacation at this time without a phone if no team can get him now. From this u know Paxson is not interested n Drew Gooden or any other guys the media brings up that r available right now.

If this is the case, then I'm happy. They need not go the way of the Blackhawks and Cubs, and sign someone just to say they signed someone. If they can't help or upgrade, no need to get them. I've been holding that in about Gooden since I first heard the rumor. He wouldn't be an upgrade over anything we have right now.

All the players on the team have committed to 3 years, right? If so, Oden in 3 years should = Monster

Yeah.. And if all the cards fall in place, 3 years = Bulls Monster... biggrin.gif

I wonder if all of this was said about Scotty when he first came into the league. Deng is what he is...a Scotty type of player. He will be able to do a ton of things good. I'd leave him at 3, but if the situation dictates, I'd play him at 4 if we go small, play him at 2 if Lebron is going off on us, etc... Deng will be OK

And I'm sure the outside shooting will come along.

Chandler admitted in the past that he got personal help from Skiles and the staff to help him improve on his game, so I have to side with Skiles on this one. Even he said Skiles is a good coach and all that. But first and foremost, this is a business, and Skiles job is winning. Chandler had every opprotunity to help the cause, but it just didn't happen. I'm sure his first option would have been to have Tyson on the floor late, but he'd either BE in foul trouble by then, or foul out then. And if the situation dictated we needed points late in the game, of course Songalia should be in the game. Chandler gave us nothing on that end, except a laugh or two when the ball would bounce off his head or just looking at his moves trying to get off a shot. It was time to move in a different direction if we intended on getting past the first round. Chandler doesn't fit a half court team. And we paid him WAY TOO MUCH!! This was a blessing (not so much) in disguise getting rid of him, and trust me, this is coming from a fan who whole-heartily fell into the 'he could be like KG' hype...

Thomas missed 2 free throws after going to the basket hard.

Sefolosha supposedly not playing because the Bulls are happy with his play and don't need to see him anymore.

I was thinking that. I think the staff is SOLD!! Now it's just a matter of time before Ben wins another 6th man of the year... then we would be untouchabulls once again... if he's satisfied with that role...

I voted Pippen becuase he was there. But other than the obvious 2, I would have to say Rodman. Hated all the off the court antics with a passion, but man could he rebound, defend, and get under the opposition's skin.
Actually, the way this team was put together was amazing... you had the dynamic duo, a rebounder, and center who only job was to score a couple and defend the middle, a long shot specialist who could hit the open shot.... and it was the same no matter who they lined up... So I would vote 'the rest'

The Illini should have never been ranked #1 by the way. And even if they were you should have never gotten the same feeling from them as from our beloved Bulls.

True. With the Illini, you'd wonder how long it would take for them to break. With the Bulls, you'd just wonder if they would or could ever lose.

The only disappointment out of all that is "what if Jordan hadn't retired'... We could have won from 91-99.... Now that would have been even more remarkable

he's only 33 and played in 68 games last year...

How much time did he average? We would need more than he could muster up for Miami last year.

If he could be more than just serviable, heck yea I'd welcome him with open arms. Then MAYBE he would be worth the $$$ he will seek.

Are you kidding me. Zo as Wallaces replacement. How would a defense get any better then that. Or you could even play him and Wallace on the court at the same time. No team would bring the ball into the lane on that line-up. Zo although not the best scorer is better at being physical and putting the ball in the hoop then anyone on our team. (Sweetney is the only one with a better low post game)

The only thing with Zo is the attitude. Could that become an issue or would him and Wallace coincide perfectly?

See above...

the guy is sculpted, large, and can still score down-low despite having 1 kidney. i'd take him, but he's going to want more than we'd give him.

He's also oft injured, or out because of 1 kidney. Unless we had an established PF / C, and knew we'd only need him in certain situations, like Miami, he'd be a waste against the cap.

What do you guys think.... Will John Paxson's best friend Isiah Thomas do a better job than Larry Brown? Should we Bulls fans expect that? Is Greg Oden ours? Any predictions? Lets discuss biggrin.gif

In my opinion, if they could ever learn to play together, with those 'names', you would expect them to be better. Personally, I don't think there's enough balls on the court for them to get better. I forsee the same season. You can't have 5 go-to guys. But of course there is more 'hope' in my opinion than anything else...

Not me. I expected a raw rookie to play like a raw rookie (1/2 year of college ball). I expect a lot of this during the season. All we can hope is that it doesn't happen at crutial times. Also, the talent level he will be playing with will be a bit more, therefore some of these mistakes can be covered. Remember, we didn't draft a 'play me now' player. We drafted for the future. He will be OK. I just don't want another Chandler, and I don't think he will be.

Man, you all are doing some serious brow beating on TT. What did you expect? 30-15 game? Give the kid some time. He was known as a huge project with a lot of athleticism. GIve him just a little git more time than the first summer league game.

You also get beat up significantly more playing football, and several players' performances seem to have suffered from marijuana.

Yeah, see Ricky Willams....

But wasn't that Bias' first and last time ever trying drugs? He was far from any kind of addict...just a dumb kid who got caught up in the hype... sadly, can't make that mistake again...

Nope I didn't like giving up Brand at all, and still don't to this day. He is one of the most consistant players I've seen in a long time; Tim Duncan at PF, Mr. Consistancy, Mr. Fundamentals. You knew you had a 20-10 guy every night pretty much, whether that was his ceiling or not. Seemed like a rock solid building block to me. And we never recovered from it, and he's still a 20-10 guy; all-star...

Nothing beats the package though. I think all but 3 games were televised last year between the package, WGN, ESPN, and TNT. That's worth the money right there...

Man, but having the football and hockey packages along with basketball gets pretty pricey, yet cheaper than going to 2 games in each sport, IMO... Love my Chi-town teams.....
