Wallace, Gordon, and Kirk have been really good in this 2nd half, Deng has been amazing all game. Bulls need to shore up that help defense if they're going to win this game.

Duhon played miserably, as did Tyrus. Noc has been pretty bad tonight as well. I'm a tad bit surprised Tyrus and Noah haven't played more, but this rotation has been pretty good on both ends. Bulls need to finish stronger/better at the basket.

Gordon coming off the bench = good.

Agreed, but Nocioni played waaaaay too long in the game.

Red almost had a heart attack!!

Wallace damn near cost us a posession with that back pass to Kirk lol. Gordon looks like he's forcing it a bit right now.

Bad foul on Ben there. Stacey King sounds like Rasheed Wallace out there. "The ball don't lie Bogut!"

The Boylan Era starts with a victory. Hard-fought, a nail-biter, but a good game.

Some post-game thoughts: Deng is our 1st half go-to-guy, where as Gordon takes over the role in the 2nd half. Gordon coming off the bench, for at least 1 game, has been a brilliant idea. He played well, though I don't like how he started jacking up shots in the 4th. He was forcing it a bit, but he played great tonight. Kirk played much better. Sans the turnovers in the 1st quarter, he did a great job distributing and hit his shots when needed. He was an assist away from a double-double. I also love how he hit the glass hard in the 2nd half.

Nocioni needs to be getting less minutes, and if Big Ben plays like he did tonight more often, then he needs to be on the court more too. He was very active on defense, had some huge blocks, and he was able to distribute the ball a bit when he got it on offense. Tyrus was beyond terrible, and thats the reason he only played 4 minutes. He managed to have 2 turnovers and a foul in those 4 minutes as well. I really REALLY want to see Noah taking minutes from Noc right now. Gray continues to play quality minutes as well. And by giving the 2 of them more minutes, we also get some better interior offense/defense.

Loved the ball movement on offense, and the penetration was good from the guards. The Bulls free throw shooting s much improved this season as well. 29-33 from the stripe tonight. Those points help a ton. The defense needs improvement though. They need to get better at their help defense and getting around screens. And thats especially for Gordon and Nocioni.

i thought they played really well, i liked boylan's idea of pushing the ball, but in the first half it didnt seem as they got many points off of it, i also noticed it wasnt always a guard bringing it up, wallace, and deng took it up a few times, and that never happened with skiles, and in the last game vs the spurs BG dunked it, and he never did that unless it was the playoffs, so it seemed like thy were playing more freely under boylan, hopefully he can keep the wins coming. that was za great screen by gray too, he just knocked ivey off his feet.

Noah and Tyrus played 4 minutes between them. Gray played 14 minutes.

If those 2 are that bad that they don't deserve to be on the floor more than 4 minutes at this point while a 2nd rounder deserves 14, then Pax really ought to be fired.

Seriously, I'm just so sick of seeing these DNP-CD's on those guys...I'd rather lose a game because they make a mistake than have them sit on the bench any more. We just fired the damn coach, we're essentially starting over, put the damn kids in.

I agree in part. They need to at least get a look at the guys on the court. I don't understand how a DNP-CD helps, but you've got to admit, Tyrus played miserably tonight in his 4 minutes. I mean, like, terrible. And I'd personally take the wins over seeing Tyrus and Noah on the court for 30 minutes. They deserve a look no matter what, give them a few minutes to see what they're bringing to the table that night. As of right now, you can't argue with the results. Not under Boylan at least.

Tyrus didn't really need to be in the game tonight. He comes in when we need rebounding and a spark. We murdered them on the glass tonight and Tyrus pretty much killed any rythmn that we had in the 2nd quarter by his fouling and poor passing. I still want to see him getting up to 20 mpg if he can manage to provide a spark when he comes in. Tyrus is alot like Rex, you can usually tell wether he's going to be bad or good as soon as he makes the first few plays. Boylan and Scott aren't really that much different but I hope next time he really limits Noc's minutes. Maybe he's trying to be tough and play through an injury, idk, but he's been terrible these last few games and its taking ample playing time for Noah.

Good win, and were off to a good start, now lets kick the Knicks asses Sunday morning baby!
