There is a rumor going around involving a deal that would send Hinrich to the Bucks for the 8th overall selection and expiring picks. This move could make sense, especially if the Bulls are serious about holding onto both Gordon/Deng (as the reality is, if you take Rose one of Hinrich/Gordon/Deng would need to move).

I don't know what the Bulls would target at 8, but they clearly are big fans of Lopez and most project him to go off the boards around the 7th spot, but there are some other interesting guys that could be available at 7. Plus the Bulls would be clearing Hinrich's contract and building more expiring contracts (which could be very very valuable).

To go on with this train of thought, the New York Post has indicated that the Chicago Bulls will definately move Kirk Hinrich after selecting Rose (no indication to whom or the timing but it would make a lot of sense, considering Rose would obviously be the PG of the future and Hinrich is still a solid player but he's not a pure SG).

Hinrich should still have value and the Bulls will have some contracts like Larry Hughes as well so they should be able to do some creative things after the draft (cause the reality is they probably could use without the extra lottery picks and if they did get another pick or two I'd imagine they'd package those picks with expiring contracts for a good veteran player, say an Elton Brand or a Michael Redd, etc).

Everything I've read in the past 2 days says that Pax is going to wait to trade Kirk until he gets the Deng/Gordon contracts resolved. And I've also read that Joe Alexander to the Bucks at #8 is a lock. I don't think this rumor has much to it. If it did, could we be talking about drafting Beasley #1 and Augustin #8?

Another rumor floated out by Rich Bucher is that the Bulls have recently talked to the Heat about a deal which would send Wade to Chicago (and didn't involve the #1 pick). That would obviously mean a large amount of talent would be headed towards Miami (Hinrich being one of the obvious parties, who knows who else).

Still, I'd be hard pressed to seeing Chicago being able to make such move without giving up the top pick.

Without sending #1 I don't see how it can be any less than Hinrich, Deng and Thomas/Thabo, unless I underestimate Wade's injuries and/or their desire to move him (which seems non-existant to me). They seem pretty set on taking Mayo because they think he'll blend well with Wade, it'd just be weird to turn around and trade him after that.

I have difficulty seeing this team moving Hinrich to make room for a player like Augustin to be our only PG.

I mean, we have the assets in both contracts and players to do a deal for Wade and actually do it fairly without giving up the #1 because of how deep we are, but the reality is, any version of that deal pretty much requires the Heat to decide they're going in to 100% rebuilding mode. The guys we'd give up are either not nearly stars like D-Wade so they'd be guys you're hoping can be good 2-3 options alongside Beasley/Mayo in a couple years (Deng, Gordon, Hinrich), or they're contracts that expire within 2 years (Gooden, Hughes) or they're young guys you're trying to develop (Tyrus, Noah, Thabo).

We could do it and it could be fair, but frankly I just don't see why the Heat would do it.

Then what do you think we'd do with the 1st and 8th pick?

where did you see this?
i think if the bulls did do this it would be either beasley/augustin or rose/jordan, but im not really sure why they would do that because love, westbrook, gordon, mayo, and bayless would all be gone.

The idea of bring Chris Bosh to the bulls was out on another thread. We could trade the #8 pick, Gordon/Deng, Tyrus, maybe one other player of their choice that would make it fair?

They're saying in another thread that the TJ Ford/Jermaine O'Neal swap finally seems to be getting done with O'Neal going to the Raptors, so I find it pretty hard to believe they wouldn't try pairing Bosh and O'Neal for a year or two to see if they've got something.

Well I don't know who we'd go after with the number 8 pick. I sure hope its not Brook Lopez. That guy has mega bust written all over him.

I'd love to have DWade if it didn't involve giving up the number 1 pick but then I don't even know what we could even give them that would be worth considering..

I'm a fan of Brandon Rush but he's projected to go in the teens..

Technically speaking, I would have no problem moving those three individuals (not Thabo, but Thomsa can be a part of the package) and than use the #1 pick on Beasley (who I think would be a good fit to slide into the 3 spot). Than again, Wade & Rose in a backcourt would be very intriguing as well as those two guys could penetrate all day long and create for other players.

The Bulls have always been big fans of Love and I would expect him to be the pick at 8 (unless Lopez somehow falls to 8). They still need that big with an offensive game and both Lopez/Love possess exactly that (and Tyrus/Noah are both athletic freaks that can handle the better defensive big on any team so you shouldn't be hurt by Lopez/Love's less than desirable athletic ability).

Drew Gooden is apparently on the block as well.
