Well it could be one of many things.. either 1) They don't think Beasley fits well with their system and think Tyrus does 2) They see potential issues with Beasley.. attitude and all. 3) They are trying to trick Riley into giving up more than just Beasley and Marion by downplaying Beasley I would say it's more that the Suns seem to be obsessed with a defense-first approach at the moment despite the fact that they don't have a single player that I'd call an above average defender on the roster and the one piece they don't want to move (Nash) is one of the worst defensive players at his position. That's about the only way it makes sense, as Beasley is a highly suspect defender at the moment (not exactly surprising for a 20-year old rookie). If they're really trying to move to a more halfcourt-oriented offense than Beasley is a MUCH better fit than Tyrus. He has far more upside as an offensive player and can already stick open jumpers and occasionally create his own shot, while Tyrus has an extremely limited offensive repertoire. In an up-tempo attack you can hide that weakness much more easily, in the halfcourt it's harder. Especially with Amare departing they're going to need someone that can put the ball in the net, Nash, Shaq and Richardson are all really only decent scorers at this point in their career. I suspect that the Suns will be pretty bad in the fairly near future, especially once Nash and Shaq either fall apart or end up elsewhere. |

If that deal is on the table (Gooden, Simmons, Tyrus, Sefolosha) and PHX wants it, then fish Paxson and VDN forever if they don't take it.

if the deal is gooden, tyrus, thabo, and simmons is there any way the suns would take noah instead of tyrus?
rose/gordon/deng/amare/tyrus would be crazy. |

With their roster, I really don't think they would. Not with the Lopez kid already sitting there. If they actually like Hinrich I'd love to substitute Noah and Hinrich for Gooden and Tyrus there, but that all depends on how they like our roster. |

They seem to like Thomas more than Beasley. It will either be Thomas, Gooden, Sefelosha and Simmons or Thomas, Gooden and Noah with the possibility of the Bulls offering there 2009 #1 pick. I think we need Noah more than Sefelosha. How can Gray be our starting Center? After the Allstar break i hope we see this: C- Noah (Gray) PF- Stoudemire (Ruffin?) SF- Deng (Nocioni) SG- Gordon ( Hinrich) PG- Rose ( Hunter) |

Taken from RealGM who wrote about what occured on NBA TV just now.
QUOTE Amare:
DA didn't say much other than that Amare will be moved. Isola had the odd report: He said that his sources "inside the Knicks organization" have told him that they believe Amare has already been traded to an Eastern Conference team, but that it won't be announced until after the Allstar game so as not to mess things up with him being voted in as a West starter. His sources with the Knicks told him they believe the trade was with Miami or Chicago. Sam Smith: He refutes Isola's sources and says that no trade has occurred. He went through a bunch of stuff about why the Bulls should or shouldn't do the trade. Here is his unique addition: He said the Suns have informed the Bulls that they have "a better offer from another Eastern Conference team" than what the Bulls are offering, but Sam doesn't know who the team is or what the offer is. He speculated this could be nothing more than a bargaining ploy. Other Bulls Stuff: Smith said that regardless of what happens with Amare, the Bulls "will make a trade this month." He than said that he's certain that Hughes is on the move and that it is "very likely" that Nocioni will be traded as well. He was not stating these things as speculation. Red Kerr: Smith said to be glued to the halftime show for Red because "it will be full of surprises that you've never seen before" - but wouldn't elaborate. That's the extent of the summary. Peace to you all on what will be memorable night for Bulls fans and peace to Johnny "Red" Kerr. |

If the Bulls are going to make a play for Amare Stoudemire, they'll likely have to include Kirk Hinrich in any package.Steve Nash appears unhappy in Phoenix, and the Suns might need to replace him should he leave after next season. Because of that, the Suns would value a player like Hinrich. ....... Suntimes: The Bulls' offer likely would include Drew Gooden and his expiring contract, Tyrus Thomas and Thabo Sefolosha, whom Phoenix had interest in drafting three years ago. So, Thomas, Gooden, Thabo, and Kirk... for Amare |

So, Thomas, Gooden, Thabo, and Kirk... for Amare I doubt they take ALL of those players, they're trying to cut payroll. It also doesn't work financially. It theoretically could work if Phoenix gives the Bulls Leandro Barbosa as well, they may or may not do that. |

Warriors Unlikely to Land Big Man
QUOTE Multiple league sources have confirmed that the Warriors have inquired about Amare Stoudemire and Chris Bosh, but they are unlikely to land either big man.
"We're doing our business," said assistant general manager Larry Riley. "Are we taking phone calls? Yes. Are we placing phone calls? Sure. We'll talk to people mainly to gauge what's going on out there, because it's that time of the year." Two sources said on Monday that no serious talks or trade proposals had been exchanged between Golden State and the Suns or Raptors, and one source added that it appears likely the Warriors will not make a move before the trade deadline. |
