Looks like JR's on his way to Denver, in what appears to be another salary dump. At least we get 2 2nd rounders out of it...
QUOTE Before Griffin’s signing becomes official, the Bulls will send shooting guard J.R. Smith to Denver for two future second-round draft picks and the nonguaranteed contract of point guard Howard Eisley, who will then be released. One potential delay is waiting for physicals to be completed in the trade with New Orleans. The Bulls acquired Smith from the Hornets, along with power forward P.J. Brown, in exchange for Tyson Chandler. They can’t unload Smith until that deal becomes official. http://www.dailyherald.com/sports/bulls.asp |

I predict this thread will be dug up in a couple years to show how ridiculous this trade was.
We wouldn't have Sef without that 2nd rounder we traded. 2nd rounders are real valuable to move up a few spots in the mid-late 1st round. We can get 2nd rounders WITHOUT trading an explosive 20 year old with a perfect frame and an outside game. |

I predict this thread will be dug up in a couple years to show how ridiculous this trade was. There is a reason this guy has not been shopped for a long long time and the Hornets did not get any good offers in return. There is a reason that no one was beating down Pax's door for this guy. |

There is a reason why Darko never got PT in Detroit. Or why Jermaine Oneal never did in Portland, right? |

There is a reason why Darko never got PT in Detroit. Or why Jermaine Oneal never did in Portland, right? Thats where you are wrong. Smiths selfishness, immaturity, and hardheadedness put him on the bench his sophomore year. His rookie year, he got plenty of minutes. Jeez, Rememberthe90's was right, everyone fell in love with Smith after watching a video of him dunking all the time. Adrian Griffin is a proven commodity in the NBA and starte 40+ games for a team that went to the NBA Finals. He's a Skiles type player and played well when he was with the Bulls a year ago. I'd take the guy who know's the system and gets the job done over the guy who has tons of potential. |
