Looks like JR's on his way to Denver, in what appears to be another salary dump. At least we get 2 2nd rounders out of it...
QUOTE Before Griffin’s signing becomes official, the Bulls will send shooting guard J.R. Smith to Denver for two future second-round draft picks and the nonguaranteed contract of point guard Howard Eisley, who will then be released. One potential delay is waiting for physicals to be completed in the trade with New Orleans. The Bulls acquired Smith from the Hornets, along with power forward P.J. Brown, in exchange for Tyson Chandler. They can’t unload Smith until that deal becomes official. http://www.dailyherald.com/sports/bulls.asp |

Wow, this thread heated up this morning. I went to bed at like 4 and there were 3 posts. Now, there's five pages.
Anyway, upon further review, this trade is fine with me if it is what allowed Griffin to come back. I liked him when he played for us before and am glad he's back on the team. Like others keep saying, we have enough young talent at the guard spot. Not all of them would get the minutes they need to develop. However, Griffin can play few minutes, and it's okay, b/c he's as developed as he'll get. Plus, he's an incredibly hard worker and always gives it his all. His attitude and the way he carries himself negate the talent loss in this trade-off of players (Basically, Smith for Griffin). |
