With the Free Agency upon us, it seems like a good time to have a catch-all thread for posts like this:
QUOTE The Chicago Bulls are also interested in acquiring the rights to Spanish league power forward Luis Scola from the San Antonio Spurs. Bulls forward Andres Nocioni is not likely to be involved in a trade to the Spurs. The Bulls may offer guard Chris Duhon if he is not included in a larger deal. This guys seems like a sleeper Pax would go after. |

One of Maggete and Brand will be gone next year, I'm thinking its going to be Maggete. For some reason I keep envisioning him on the Miami Heat, I don't know how that'll workout, ha.

I've gotten the impression that Maggete has hated his role on the Clippers for the last few years. He's more opposed to coming off the bench than Ben Gordon it seems, he wanted to be a starter and that wasn't the role they found him most useful for. |

He's more opposed to coming off the bench than Ben Gordon it seems, he wanted to be a starter and that wasn't the role they found him most useful for. I remember a lot of complaining coming from Corey when it came to his consistent use off the bench and to an extent it was valid because Maggette is a damn good player and a much more complete player than Gordon. He isn't a defensive liability and he's not such a streaky player (since he's so good at getting to the free throw line). Lot of talk about Orlando and the MLE for Maggette, which would be a slight pay-cut (made 7M this season) but barring a signing trade or him coming back to the Clippers I can't see anyway he gets more than the MLE (so at that point, its just a matter of picking which team he'd like to play on). James Posey will likely be in a similar boat, but the Celtics want him back and you can expect teams like the Spurs to give him a call as well. |
