QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ May 24 2006, 11:49 AM) I think Bargnani's bust factor is a lot lower than Thomas'. If nothing else, Bargnani can shoot and he's 7 feet tall. Thomas doesn't really have any basketball skills at this point, and he's only 6'9". If he doesn't bulk up and develop some moves on offense, he's not all that useful. i am guaranted that thomas will be a bust all he can do is dunk and block shots. God does that sound familiar. it is not just me either look. Aldridge, a sophomore last season, he can finish around the basket and has a decent touch on his mid-range jumper. But he's thin and needs to add bulk to withstand inside play in the NBA. Thomas, a redshirt freshman in 2005-06, is considered the best athlete in the draft. He has long arms and an exceptional vertical leap, but his offensive game is virtually nonexistent outside of dunks, and there's a question of whether he'll be a power forward or small forward in the NBA. from tribune looks like aldridge will not be as bad of a bust if he is. |

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ May 24 2006, 04:41 PM) Well, at worst I'd say he could turn into a Hedo Turkoglu or Vladimir Radmanovic type player. Big guy that shoots well but doesn't do much else. I like Radmanovic, when the Bulls play Seattle his presence on the outside brings a low post defender to the perimeter which gives their center a better chance to take any player from any team head on instead of getting doubled. Most "good" teams seem to have a big man who can shoot outside. For example: Rasheed for Detroit Antoine for Miami Dirk for Dallas |

Just watched the Youtube video of Bargnani............IMPRESSIVE
This is definately our guy, especially if aldridge is not available. He will have some adjustments defensively coming to the nba, but he is young and already has a very smooth look to his offensive moves. THAT CANNOT BE UNDERESTIMATED. He can definately become an inside-outside scoring machine like dirk and rasheed wallace. Even if he isn't QUITE as good as them, he will satisfy our needs for a big guy who can score. On the video he showed a couple post up moves. Paired with defensive stoppers like chandler and pryzbilla, we could have a very lethal combo next year if we take bargnani and get a bulky FA. |

For once I can agree with someone. We also should not overlook are second pick, we can take a quality player there also. For example I think Temples guard Mardy Collins would be there and he is a tall defensive guard and UCLAs guard. |
