I wouldnt give up all those players as well as next years number 1.  We are pretty much going to have a top 5 pick next year and nexts year's draft is taylored for us with several big men with all star potential.

No way we give up that Knicks' pick. It's a very loaded draft, and we could definitely get some serious help inside. There could easily be 4 big guys better than anyone in this draft, and there are already 2.

I would be EXTREMELY happy if we got Oden, Hawes, Durant, McRoberts, Hibbert or Brandan Wright. All of those guys have some serious skills. I'd also be fairly happy with Joakim Noah or Al Horford. There are also probably a few more that'll step up. There are several other very good players that would be better fits if we didn't have so many perimeter players right now (Rush, Julian Wright, Jeff Green).

i have a crazy idea... what would you guys think about us trading one of our expendable SGs/SFs and our 1st next yr to a bad team for their 1st. It would be like picking up an extra lotto ticket that could possibly become greg oden. Could it work? Would it be worth it? For what teams?

No, since we already have the option of trading our 1st rounder for the Knick's pick. We can't do that without our own pick.

I don't think we'd have to if we gave them Smith, Brown, Deng, and Duhon.  That's 4 starters we're giving them for one.  Lucky for us, we're so deep we can afford to give up that starting talent, and still have a GREAT starting lineup.  Depth does become a problem after this, though.

PG- Hinrich, Sefolosha
SG- Gordon, Sefolosha
SF- Noc, Khryapa/Tyrus
PF- KG, Allen, Tyrus
C- Wallace, Sweetney

The only place we lose quality depth here is guard.  Now, Thabo could come in and be solid like Noc was his first year, but you never know with rookies.

Smith, Deng and Brown for Jermaine O'neal?

Would that be enough. Maybe throw in a future second round pick. That way we still keep Duhon as the back up point guard.

That could probably get it done. You might have to throw in a 2009 1st rounder or something down the road, but I think it all would depend on how much Indiana does/doesn't want O'Neal. I know Deng would probably be a must b/c he'd give them someone to replace Peja. Brown could replace O'Neal down low and be effective, though obviously not as effective as O'Neal. And, Smith would give them someone young who is still developing and a freak athletically.

Personally, I'd rather keep the team we have than trade for O'Neal (or anyone else for that matter, unless it's KG). I don't know how much you can count on him being there every game. He's had injury problems for 2 years in a row now.

I think we might see a little window dressing, as I think we need a 3rd PG to round out the team, but pretty much the Bulls are done.

Plus, you dont trade within your division...especially Deng. I wouldnt want to play against him in about 2 years once he really develops....especially in Indy. I hate the Pacers and wouldnt wish that on a good guy like Deng.

I can't see Pax being done, yet. PJ Brown is 37 years old, and Sweetney is getting up there also. I can't see either one of them playing 35-40 minutes a night. Thomas projects more as a 3 until he bulks up. I still think Pax is going to trade our glut of 3s for another 4.

That doesn't really matter in the NBA. It's different in baseball or football, but in basketball, you only play division opponents 4 times, and it doesn't make that big of an impact. Besides, in that deal, the Bulls are getting better, so I would do that deal.
