I noticed in an article that said:

"If the Bulls are unable to land Wallace, Atlanta forward Al Harrington (unrestricted) and Seattle power forward Chris Wilcox (restricted), 23, are next on the Bulls' list of front-court free agents. "
Source: http://suntimes.com/output/bulls/cst-spt-bull01.html

So I looked this Wilcox guy up and I was intrigued by some things:

*He possesses good size at 6'10 235lbs.
*His body frame is muscular and he is agile and athletic.

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, I checked out his career averages, and the guy
has only had limited minutes. BUT in the 2005-06 season after he was traded to the Sonics and averaged 30 minutes per game,

the guy posted 14.1 points per game and 8.2 rebounds per game.

Also, with Seattle he shot .78% from the free throw line.

Those are some nice numbers, once hes givin minutes to produce and it shows hes a big man that can score. Which is DEFINATELY something we need. What do you guys think if we can get him?

I'd take him as long as he's used as a PF...And if we get the vanilla gorilla, he better have a better season than lamarcus...

The obvious knock on Wilcox is his consitiency and defense. He is surely a capable scorer and athletic PF, but he doesnt show up on a regular basis, and displays little to no defensive stopping ability.

Pryz on the other hand has little to no offensive game but is a monster on D. 2.3 blocks in 25 minutes compared to overrated Ben's 2.2 in 35 minutes. In 35 minutes he would be pulling down 10 boards, and around 10 points, with 3.2 blocks, all for 4-6 million less than overrated Ben. He basically gave up trying in Portland half way through last season, and that is worrisome, but he really shows some flashes of dominance which along with his young age and Skiles ability to whip his players could make him a special player.

His game seems better suited for a running team, according to comments from a fan site who was familiar with his game. He struggled with the half court game with the Clippers and did well with the open style of Sea. The Bulls need a guy who can score in a half court setting, who can post up. That doesn't seem like Wilcox's game.

I like Wilcox. He's always been a solid athlete with some scoring ability. I wouldn't go nuts on the price though. He's a bit of an unknown in terms of heavy minutes, and his defense isn't great. He's probably a better fit for what we need though, assuming we keep Tyson. I'd like him a lot more than Pryzbilla.

Wilcox is probably going to resign with Seattle. He excelled there and the Sonics can offer him the most money. They have pretty much made it their priority to resign him.

If he were available to us, I would definately place Wilcox ahead of most of the stiffs out there. At least Wilcox has some upside.
