The Bulls were last in the east in steals with 6.2 a game. Though the Bulls play great team defense, it's not surprising considering the Bulls lack lightning quick guards. Yet with guards like Arenas, Iverson, Billips, Ford, and Felton in the east, getting a super quick PG who can defend and get those steals might not be a bad idea. Esp. if the bigs who could help the Bulls are gone by 16. [This based on the premise the bulls draft Roy rather than a big at 2. If the bulls draft an Aldridge, getting a guy like Thabo at 16 makes sense]

That lightning quick PG? Rajon Rondo.

In my ideal draft, I'd have the Bulls take Roy @ #2, and have a big like Cedric Simmons at 16. Yet Simmons will prob. be gone. Guys like Armstrong and Sene probably aren't the game changers a guy like Rondo could be.

I'd still take Roy at #2. Yet the bigs around at 16 probably won't have the upside a guy like Rondo does. Go with the best available player and the guy who has a big upside.

Some will say the bulls are set with Duhon. Yet with a lot of media rumors saying that Duhon is on the market, I wouldn't be surprised if he and a guy like Sweetney were packaged for a PF/ C [esp near or on draft day]. Duhon as value as a guy who won't hurt you. Yet any 6 footer who is slow as molasses is expendable

Get a free agent like Nene, and another big body like Nazr, along with a decent big from the Duhon + Sweetney trade, the bulls would be set at all the spots. Esp spots 1-3 for yrs to come.

He profiles as a great PG off the bench. His defense [both rebounding and steals] and playmaking skills [assists, ability to penetrate and drive to the basket] would seem to fit in well with the 2nd team.

He doesn't fill a need and it would be quite stupid to draft someone who won't play to boost our steals stats. And no one is going to take Sweetney and Duhon for a good established PF or C.

I don't see this happening.

If Duhon is traded [as many rumors indicate], he'd see a lot of time. And if the Bulls wanted to improve the overall team defense [not just improve their steals], upgrading from Duhon would help with that. Duhon gets burned an awful lot. He has very slow feet.

Also, a 2 for 1 trade involving those two Bulls won't net a star. But it should get the bulls someone better than Sweetney to play the 4/ 5

If we trade Duhon we would more than likely be moving up from 16, so where would we take Rondo?

Trading Duhon would be for a current pro not a pick.

Not true.

I am hearing the Bulls packaging Duhon+16 to move up.

I wasn't getting into specific deals. I was just saying Duhon had worth. He and Sweetney together could get the bulls a decent player

IMO, Duhon wouldn't go for a pick. The Bulls don't want to get younger

The steal stat is meaningless to the Bulls, they look to play good positional defense with their feet, instead of gambling in the passing lanes to create the SportCenter dunk.

What isn't meaningless is that the Bulls could use a better defender at the PG spot off the bench [which would lead to more steals as the PG guards the perimeter]. Duhon has his strengths. But quickness isn't among them

It looks like Duhon might be dealt so it doesn't really matter.
