Bulls take on an Odomless Lakers tonight.
I want to see Hinrich hold Kobe under 25 tonight.
BTW folks, http://www.talkbulls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1384&pid=20845&st=0&#entry20845... if you're new to the game, it isn't too late to join...
Defense. Balls.
That is all.
This is going to be a real tough test. Hopefully our defense is up to the task of trying to contain the red hot Bryant and the end result will be the Bulls first win against a team with a .500 record.
On the other end of the spectrum, as of a day ago the Lakers had the most wins against teams with a .500 or better record.
LETS GO BULLS!!!!
just found out a local bar has nba tv... I'm going to cash a graduation present and get spiff faced tonight!!!
TOugh game so far but its definately winniable.
How do you let Kwame Bust dominate you like this?
Lets close out this fourth quarter strong
Sweets doing some serious damage for once. Too bad he's too fat to do this regularly...
Lets close this out!!!!!!!!!
Huge win for the Bulls, impressive.
Deng once again showing why hes our best player.
Nice to see a win against a pretty good Laker team, albeit with Odom out.
Nice touch on the Kobe chant.
Sweets, Deng and Duhon
Hell of a game for a lot of people.
Deng with a solid game. Gordon with a solid game. Sweetney steps up huge. Duhon and Thabo step up big and shut down Kobe Bryant.
First half was a little shaky, but in the 2nd half the defense really clamped down and did what it needed to do, except, well, on Kwame, but if our defensive weak link is Ben Wallace...well I can live with that.
Big time win tonight. Give us some confidence before we head out west again, and get a win against a really good team.
Solid effort. The Bulls really have Kobe's number, and the biggest reason is that they keep the ball out of his hands better than any team in the NBA. Its a super basic concept, but a guy can't score if he doesn't have the ball. PLus with the Bulls help defense, they were daring someone else to beat them, and nobody could do it. It would have been a different story if Odom had played (all though they probably don't help as much either then), but it was a good effort again.
Couple other interesting notes...
The Bulls lineup for most of the 4th quarter last night...Gordon, Thabo, Duhon, Deng, and Sweetney/Wallace. Hinrich and Nocioni sat most of the 2nd half, and the team still pulled out a win. Good to see that sometimes when we have a matchup that's working we're sticking with it.
And that windmill move by Thabo with a couple minutes left in the game on a layup underneath the basket? Magnifique. Thabo had a couple of stupid fouls in the 4th quarter, but hopefully he learns from those.
Thabo played some tremendous defense. That said he made a ridiculous mistake by jacking up that three as time expired. I'm glad Skiles took him aside and told him not to do it ever again in that situation.
Our defense shut down one of the best in the league for the 2nd time this year (too bad last time we lost) and we were able to come back despite being down midway through the 2nd half (2nd straight game the team has been resilient enough to make a comeback).
Also, we are officially a game out from being the best team in the Eastern Conference. Of course if the season ended we'd be the 5th seed playing the winner of the Atlantic office.
