Hopefully the boys bring their track shoes today...

Make the Suns play your game. You cannot win this game if you try to outrun the Suns.

Posted by: DrunkBomber Jan 2 2007, 02:44 PM

This is an important game. Im curious to see how we stack up to the elite teams in the west at home. Im also curious to see how we match up with them athletically.

Posted by: Balta1701-B Jan 2 2007, 02:49 PM

Anyone know if Hinrich and Wallace are feeling better and ready to be in the lineup?

Posted by: DrunkBomber Jan 2 2007, 04:19 PM

Hinrichs still listed as day to day but Im sure hell play this game and Wallace isnt onthe injury report at all.

Posted by: TeaLeafReaderII Jan 2 2007, 04:31 PM

I don't think Hinrich plays tonight...

Thabo to start for Hinrich per the radio

If the Bulls want to be elite they need to continue to defend their home court

that will be good seeing thabo on raja bell two tall guards. Should be a good game.

I think Gordon is gonna get a lot of minutes this game to keep us flowing offensively. Im very excited to see this game.

Posted by: DrunkBomber Jan 2 2007, 07:53 PM

We need to watch the pick and roll. Thats killing us.

Deng and Gordon aren't helping them much either. bullssmilie1.jpg

Hinrichs 26th birthday today.. snr.gif

Posted by: WHarris1 Jan 2 2007, 08:21 PM

Bulls lookin good.

To bad Tyrus Thomas is one of the least skilled offensive players ever, yikes.

Gordon + Deng = good as usual

Posted by: TeaLeafReaderII Jan 2 2007, 08:22 PM

Gordon covering Nash... this could get scary

Posted by: DrunkBomber Jan 2 2007, 08:28 PM

Our offense definitely is dealing with the new ball better then phoenix

Posted by: southsider2k5 Jan 2 2007, 08:33 PM

Well it was a great quarter and a half of defense, with the Bulls only giving up 26 points in that span. All of the sudden the Phoenix O has reaasserted itself. The Bulls need to stop the bleeding quickly.

Posted by: WHarris1 Jan 2 2007, 08:39 PM

LMAO Deng arguing a call and the ref doesn't wanna listen so Skiles clearly yells...
"You better listen to him he never says anything to anybody!"

Posted by: Brian Jan 2 2007, 08:39 PM

Went to a shot of Skiles at the wrong time as he said, "F*cking b*tch" about the bad call on Noc.

Posted by: TeaLeafReaderII Jan 2 2007, 08:41 PM

I'm terrified that they are going to T up Nocioni everytime he fouls... he needs to keep his emotions in check with these facist refs.

Posted by: southsider2k5 Jan 2 2007, 08:44 PM

55-43 at the half. HOlding PHo to 43 pts in a half is huge, hell many teams can't hold them to 43 in a quarter. The Bulls offensive flow has actually looked better than the Suns to be honest. Now we have to hope that the Bulls legs hold up for the second half. Excellent game so far, and kudos to Chris for the effort so far on Nash.

Posted by: DrunkBomber Jan 2 2007, 09:02 PM

Nice play by Deng

Posted by: TeaLeafReaderII Jan 2 2007, 09:17 PM

Amare decided to show up... ugly start to the third...

Posted by: Balta1701-B Jan 2 2007, 09:24 PM

Even though the Bulls couldn't shoot, Phoenix only scored 20 in the 3rd. Closed the gap some, but the Bulls still kept them behind. Need to hit our shots in the 4th, big time.

Posted by: DrunkBomber Jan 2 2007, 09:35 PM

They need to get Gordon more involved on the offense.

The offense as a whole needs to step it up. They stand there and hope someone does somethings. They need to run more without the ball. Better ball movement and more activity on offense.

Posted by: Balta1701-B Jan 2 2007, 09:39 PM

Bulls are 2/7 in the 4th quarter if I'm counting right.

Just hit a few shots and this game is over.

Posted by: SoxFan1 Jan 2 2007, 09:42 PM

Ref's must be from Arizona.

Posted by: Balta1701-B Jan 2 2007, 09:45 PM

Noc with a double double, deng close to one

Posted by: DrunkBomber Jan 2 2007, 09:46 PM

This is one of the first times I can recall Little Ben being in foul trouble.

Posted by: SoxFan1 Jan 2 2007, 09:48 PM

Ben Gordon with a helluva play!

Posted by: DrunkBomber Jan 2 2007, 09:50 PM

When Gordon is getting to the line he is a huge offensive lift. His driving has gotten much better as of late.

If he wants to be a dominant player in this league, that's exactly what he needs to do. Get into the lane and get the driving working. The outside shot will probably always be there, but if you want to be great, you have to drive the lane. It dismantles the other team's defense, creates open shots for teammantes, and draws fouls.

Posted by: DrunkBomber Jan 2 2007, 09:53 PM

Either Nocioni flops all the time or he gets hammered on every play.

Huge shot by Ben

Please, just no 3s

Wow, we cant let them get anything tricky on offense.

Posted by: SoxFan1 Jan 2 2007, 09:58 PM

Ben hits both free throws. This is huge. It's all on the defense now. And all this without Kirk.

Posted by: Balta1701-B Jan 2 2007, 09:59 PM

Isn't that a new career high for Gordon, 41?

Posted by: DrunkBomber Jan 2 2007, 10:00 PM

You gotta be kidding me

Posted by: SoxFan1 Jan 2 2007, 10:00 PM

Saw that coming.

Posted by: WHarris1 Jan 2 2007, 10:00 PM

And Barbosa kicks the Bulls in the mother freaking nads

Posted by: SoxFan1 Jan 2 2007, 10:02 PM

That was the fastest damn 1.5 seconds. freaking bullshit ass referee's.

Posted by: WHarris1 Jan 2 2007, 10:02 PM

If that is not one of the most disheartening losses of the year I dunno what is.

Eventually we are gonna have to freaking beat a good team.

Posted by: Tony82087 Jan 2 2007, 10:03 PM

Heart Breaking loss, but this team can go with anyone.

Posted by: Brian Jan 2 2007, 10:05 PM

With 1.5 secs, why run a play with your intended shooter getting the ball going away from the basket?

Posted by: WHarris1 Jan 2 2007, 10:05 PM

Would be nice if Nocioni would wake the fish up lately, dude is cold as ice from 3, turns it over in stupid situations, and is just generally playing dumb.

Posted by: Wanne Jan 2 2007, 10:07 PM

Terrible defensive scheme coming out of a time out! What's the gist....NO GODDAMN 3'S!!!....so everybody was packed in the paint.

All the good teams are in the west. And we've shown so far that we can't hang with the west. 34 points allowed in the 4th quarter? Pathetic! We're now 2 months into the season and this team is still not defending like they're capable. I guess adding a 4-time DPOY doesn't mean as much as it used to.

No freaking spiff, you gotta switch that or something...no way you let Barbosa get that nice of a look.

FUCKKKKKKKKKKKK

Nash/Marion/Amare has to be the best trio in the league. Nash wasn't even great tonight but Marion/Amare were freaking monsters.

Posted by: DrunkBomber Jan 2 2007, 10:09 PM

Nocioni cries foul too much and when you fall on the floor every other play against a team that runs like the Suns your destroying your teams chances. I still think Noc is good but he whines so much on the floor.

The Suns, not the Mavs, are in the finals last year with a healthy Amare/Thomas. I think they beat the Heat as well. If they're healthy come playoff time, they're my pick in a stacked west.

AMEN.

God I love teh Suns, but tonight they make me sick. Easily my favorite team in the West.

They were tough as fish last year without one of the best interior players in the league, sick.

I live in Phoenix...and I still hate 'em. Did anybody else seem to think that every time...EVERY time Phoenix came out of a timeout...D'Antoni had a set play that scored? God that game was a kick in the nuts.

And please...get well quick Kirk so I don't have to see much of Duhon anymore.

Posted by: Chi-town23-33 Jan 2 2007, 10:24 PM

Wow, that's a tough one to swallow. Although I did have the feeling someone on Phoenix was going to make a big shot. There was just way too much time left on the clock. I really wish Gordon would have held the ball a little longer the second before, but with the easy two coming from Nash's foul, I can see why he put the shot up.

I really hope, even in a loss, this game gives them a lot of confidence. They should be thinking of how tough they played one of the best teams in the league without Kirk Hinrich. Or the opposite could happen, and they slump a bit. Hope that doesn't happen.

Great job by BG7: 41 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists. He is quickly becoming the most important player on our team. I see big money in store for him.

Also, I don't know if you guys have or not, but I have been voting for the All-Star game everyday. I urge you guys to vote for Deng, Wallace, Gordon, and Hinrich, just so when the coaches decide the reserves they look at our guys and see there is some support for them. Peace out.

Why? His numbers are down, but I have no problem voting for him. He's more worthy than Shaq who will be getting a starting spot after sitting on the bench for half the season. Shaq is leading in votes for center over DWIGHT HOWARD! Maybe fans shouldn't vote at all. I mean, Jason Kidd was flirting with averaging a triple-double for awhile and will have to get appointed an All-Star spot by the coaches, Howard can't beat Shaq in voting. Sickening. The reason I've been voting for the Bulls players is because everyone else votes by their favorites. Under that logic I have no problem voting for Big Ben.

It's not just about his numbers being down. He just hasn't had the impact he's getting paid to have. How the hell are the Bulls 18th in fg% defense after ranking 1st the previous two years?

While he may not be helping, I would say our guards are preventing penetration much more poorly than they have in the past 2 years.

Posted by: Cute Little Bulls Fan Jan 2 2007, 11:33 PM

Ugggghhhhhhhhh On any other night, I respect the Suns, tonight...well I hate em! Bulls played and proved they can run with them...I would rather lose by one point than get blown out...still that was a tough one. Oh yeah and is Ben Gordon filling the void of "we do not have a scorer" yet??

Posted by: DrunkBomber Jan 2 2007, 11:41 PM

I just wanted to add. This game sucked.

Posted by: southsider2k5 Jan 3 2007, 08:18 AM

Damn. That really hurts. They led the whole damned game, only to give it away at the end. I really can't believe we contained Steve Nash that well, even with Kirk out of the game. Once again, Chris Duhon deserves some big credit for his D, as does the whole Bulls team. They really held down Phoenix, they just couldn't execute themselves when it mattered.

Even if we lost, I think there's some good in it...at least I'll probably think there's some good in any game where the Bulls take Phoenix down to the wire and hold the Suns to 43 points in the first half and under 100 for the game.

They play THAT sort of defense, get it fully in sync gradually but peaking around playoff time, and suddenly this team becomes a threat to anyone.

LEG UP: On Leandro Barbosa's game-winning 3, Steve Nash used his left leg in a tripping movement to force Ben Gordon inside and give Barbosa the space he needed to pull the shot. Had Gordon not tried to avoid Nash's leg and allowed himself to be tripped, I'm not sure if the officials would have called the foul on Nash, although it was clear that he was a moving screener. "Stripes" hate to make game-deciding calls on off-the-ball actions.
