QUOTE
Former college teammates hope to reunite with Jazz
By Sekou Smith / Special to CBS SportsLine.com

SALT LAKE CITY -- Dee Brown played host to Deron Williams once. He was the local kid, the McDonald's All-American making room for the other guy, the point guard who would be his running mate at Illinois and eventually one of his closest friends.

Now the roles are reversed. Williams is showing Brown the ropes, schooling him on life in the NBA and hoping his employer will find a way to make room on the roster for his college partner in a crowded backcourt rotation.

Amid all the changes they've gone through the past four years, the one bond that brought Brown and Williams together as teenagers is the same that has brought them together now.

Brown is the second-round draft pick trying to make the Utah Jazz roster. The incumbent starter for the Jazz is none other than Williams, the No. 3 overall pick in last summer's NBA Draft, and one of the game's promising young talents at the position.

It really would be pretty awesome if Dee and Deron got to run in the same backcourt at times next year. They have such great chemistry. It should definitely help the Jazz for Dee to make the team.
