The fact that the Bulls got him on such a low salary should tell you something. Pretty much any big man with a pulse can get the MLE, but no one wanted this guy.

I'd rather have this guy than pay $8M for Asik tho. Who knows...we'll see. Sometimes these guys fall through the cracks or a light clicks on. And I trust Thibs to get the best out of him...

He'll see about as many minutes as Butler did last year...if that. I'm not expecting too much from him. I understand the pick and all...but it really would have been nice if Perry Jones would have slid one more spot or they could have jumped up a few to get him. Even Draymond Green would have been a better pick IMO. It is what it is though. I'm was just never that high on Teague...

This kind of went under the radar (I hadn't seen/heard about it) so I looked him up. Basically just wanted to see if they had any video of him moving around the rim, D, etc... Bonus...I actually saw him catch passes! We'll see what Thibs can do with him...why not. I think the Bulls roster currently sits at 13.

Good...bout time! It would have been a complete travesty if they started the season without getting this done. Thibs is the best in the biz IMO...

I'm of the mindset that if/when Hardin leaves OKC he's going to Phoenix...so I wouldn't get my hopes up too much on him.

The only real response is that he didn't really have training camp last year, and if you give him the full camp, coaching on offense, and the right system, you might see a turnaround on that side.

But $25 million is a lot to gamble on that.

Actually catching a pass would be a good start....

He's so much more important than any retread FA you could possibly bring in. The dude's the glue to this team...if they eff this up with him...I swear.

Also...that was such an UNDERWHELMING list of remaining FAs...and he's basing his article on them?

I think Bellinelli is a slight upgrade over Korver.

Kirk-Watson is a wash.

Butler > Brewer in my mind.

Taj is Taj

Teague > JL3

Asik > Mohammad

I don't see why this is so bad...

Exactly...with an *

*Asik D > Mohammad
Mohammad O > Asik

I'll miss Omer's D...not so much anything else. Also...when healthy...Kirk's D is hand's down superior to Watson.

btw...LOVE the Belinelli signing...as well as Kirk's.

Of course everybody will miss Omer's D...but good lord...you'd get the same O production from just about anybody. I'm not so quick to discount Thibs system and plugging in a new piece. Asik just is not worth that kind of quiche...

Well that came outta nowhere? Not a bad pickup at all for not much like rockren said...although I don't see him in the 4 spot much.

Something like that...which makes bringing him over very difficult when the Bulls are this close to the tax and only have the $5 million MLE to work with.

I thought the buyout was $2M? Either way...if they go with the amnesty with Booz and it's a wasted year you'd seriously have to think about it IMO. But back to Asik...there's no way in hell I'd match that offer...sorry. Whoever gets him needs to stand him 10 feet in front of a Jugs machine every day this summer and blast balls at him.

I'm gonna throw this out there...and basically I have no clue as to his knees right now...but what's the poop with Oden?

It really would be silly to hold onto Boozer this year, in a year that's practically a wasted year, and then get cheap and not pay him the next year when we might have a competitive team/healthy Rose again.

It is really a wasted year. Personally if it was me...I'd amnesty Boozer...not match Asik...and I'd use a portion of the quiche to buy out Mirotic's contract and get him in the system. Even if they don't amnesty Boozer...I want Mirotic over here soon.

This TEAM is just ridiculous. In all my years watching sports I can't remember that many "team oriented" teams like this one is. Everybody buys into each other...it's just simply a thing of beauty to watch. And for all the Dwight Howard talk...I really can't imagine were this team would be without Lu who's truly come into his own. And I really don't think it's a coincidence either he's played his best basketball under Thibs.

And btw...the Rose drive and bucket in the 4th with about 2 1/2 left...was absolutely SICK! Who makes that friggin shot?!?!?
God I love watching this team play...

I don't blame everyone for saying they'd do it and understand I'm in the minority of not wanting to make that deal. It's all moot due to Howard not wanting Chicago.

Actually I'm with ya rocken...I'm just not sure he fits in with a "team concept". Great player...but just not worth gutting a team for.

He just needs to get a little rest. This schedule is friggin ridiculous for god's sake. Hopefully the toe heals up nicely. I would like to see Thibs play Butler a little more in these types of games...and Joakim really needs to step up a little.

Didn't get to see the game...but looks like Booze had a good night. Hope the dude stays healthy. Nice to see Rip contribute right away too. Damn I can't wait for Christmas day! One thing I will say for an opponent...I really didn't think Hansbrough was gonna be much of a player but he's developed into a very solid pro IMO.

Meh on Rip Hamilton...he is a bit past his prime. Better than nothing I guess...although I still would have preferred Richardson.
