Man I can't believe teams would be lining up with that much money for a guy like Arenas with notable defensive issues and coming off a bad injury.

Looks like the Knicks will get Duhon.

QUOTE
The Knicks are ready to offer free agent guard Chris Duhon a two-year deal worth roughly $6 million, according to NBA sources.
"Our backcourt could be a little thin right now," Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni admitted. Duhon averaged a mere 5.8 points on 39% shooting for the Bulls last season, but he is a solid defender and a capable play-maker in a pinch.

That's actually a decent signing for them given their PG position. I just hope that the annual "Duhon game or two" where he comes out and just is absolutely ridiculous and puts up 30 on 1 team a year doesn't happen against us.

Duhon makes a lot of sense as a veteran backup point guard. He knows how to run an offense and is a very good defensive player. Its too bad he could never develop a decent jump shot because that has always been what has held him back from being a borderline starter. He's definately a different fit than most of the guys the Knicks have had the past few years as I consider him a team player (despite the reports that he parties a bit too much).

Well I wouldn't classify Duhon as a Mike D'Antoni system player, but he's a good backup to have on your team.

so if duhon signs with the knicks and hinirich gets traded the PG position suddenly gets quite thin for the Bulls. How about bringing Jannero Pargo back. i think he is a free agent?

Yes, Pargo is a Unrestricted FA.

There are a fair number of other backup PG's available, and the Bulls are still holding the rights to JamesOn Curry who could play that position. Anthony Carter, Tyronn Lue, Sebastien Telfair, Sam Cassell, Earl Boykins, Eddie House, Lindsey Hunter, Shaun Livingston, Smush Parker, Jason Williams, Darrell Armstrong, Carlos Arroyo, Damon Stoudamire, etc. are the guys I came up with over a quick search. There are probably others I missed.

You know, I'm really surprised Baron Davis opted-out of his final year. I mean, I don't know much about the situation, but I feel like he must really want out of Golden St. or he really thinks he's gonna make bank as a free agent b/c I don't know why the hell he would turn down the $17.8 million he would have made this next season.

They said today that he's had a falling out with Nelson and wants to play in NY, which is unlikely

Pargo is a nice scorer off the bench (kind of a poor man's Ben Gordon) but I don't consider him a legitimate point guard. However, if Hinrich is dealt it is very clear that the Bulls will need to bring in a solid veteran point guard (you'll need that veteran to semi protect and be able to help Rose). Larry Hughes has been considered a point forward by some but he has always indicated that he doesn't want anything to do with the point guard position. Ben Gordon obviously got some time at the point but he's a horrible option there as he's really only good at one thing scoring (poor point, poor defender, etc).

I've always liked Arroyo. Livingston is very intriguing as well, but you just have to question is health and the last thing I want to do is bring in a backup that won't even be able to play (cause that puts you in a tough spot).

The Clippers may make a serious push at Davis, but apparently some believe he's just trying to get his last long term deal (which is right) and in the end will end up going back to Golden State. He was/is pissed at Nelson over him getting pulled late in the Warriors final game of the season (one in which they were playing with a shot of making the post-season).

Reports are swirling that Davis could reach an agreement with the Clippers as soon as Wednesday. His signing would pretty much put an end to any speculation that Brand would end up anywhere but back with the Clippers.

You are talking about a pretty darn good lineup too:
Baron Davis
Cutino Mobley
Al Thornton (hell of a pick last season who really came on strong)
Elton Brand
Chris Kaman (had his best season of his career)

If the Clippers miss out on Baron Davis, they will reportedly sign Jamaal Crawford (talk about a downgrade).

Update: Sounding as if Davis to Clips is done (5yrs 65 Mill). Davis has some injury concerns and will obviously be on the decline over the next few years, but thats a pretty fair deal in terms of $ value (they definately didn't over-pay).

Makes you think that the Clippers had a pre-arranged thing with Brand in which he opted out to clear enough cap room so the Clippers could sign Davis and than obviously there is no cap concerns when it comes to resigning your own guy (Brand). Plus having Maggette opt out obviously helped as well (but I don't think that was planned, more so, Corey wanted to get himself a starting job).
