ESPN:
QUOTE BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Derrick Rose, Bulls Disappointing, not because Rose is some sort of bust as Chicago message-board doomsayers fear but because his right knee gave out on him after just two games. The Bulls are stressing that Rose's tendinitis issues aren't serious. They believe some rest and an offseason weightlifting program will cure what ails him. Possibly of greater concern is the fact that earlier this week Rose confided to Douglas-Roberts, his former University of Memphis teammate, that he was frustrated in Vinny Del Negro's structured offense. At times, he seemed somewhat mechanical and unsure of himself in his two games, turning the ball over eight times and handing out just eight assists. But Rose is a can't-miss star, and the Bulls know it. The way he explodes off his hesitation dribble and already understands drive-and-kick concepts show that it's just a matter of time before he's an elite NBA point guard. But Bulls fans had better get ready for some growing pains along the way. Just 19, Rose has some maturing to do. And his jump shot is most definitely a work in progress, as shown by his 29.4 percent field goal shooting. im not sure how much truth there is to him being frustrated w/ the offense he was only in it for 2 days in summer league, how frustrated could he be? i think overwhelmed might be a better word for it. |

He doesn't even know what the offense is. He's played 2 games, give it time. It might seem a little better when you have Deng and Gooden to throw the ball to instead of Joakim and Tyrus..

I think this is getting too much attention. The kid is in a new system and may be having a tough time adjusting. Also, why throw out his assit to t/o ratio and fg% for only to games. Those stats mean nothing.

If he's bitching after playing just a couple games, well, all I can do is shake my head. I'm going to assume that isn't the case though. Just get healthy kid. You have a lot of ability and I know there will be a lot of growing pains your first season (and then onto the next couple as well) but hopefully those pains will be fewer and farther between as you progress in your career and you'll end up winning a few titles in Chicago (and maybe some MVP's).

Eh, I'm sure this is overblown. I have a hard time believing he could be frustrated with the offense since Vinny reportedly told him to start driving it more since that was gonna be a lot of the offense. I don't think he'd be complaining about an offense that focuses on him. He was probably frustrated with how he played since he's learning a new system and whatnot, like someone else alluded to...
