The Bulls tough opening stretch continues as they look for there 2nd straight win and a 2-0 start agains the upstart Magic. Orlando finished real strong down the stretch and they have what could be a dominant 4/5 with Darko/Howard.

Should be a real test, especially considering the Bulls are playing in back to back games for the first time this year while the Magic will be fresh and rested.

Posted by: southsider2k5 Nov 1 2006, 01:50 PM

That front line is going to give the Bulls fits. Its one thing to run on an old team like Miami, its going to be another to do it against a younger team like Orlando. Its going to be a close one.

Posted by: soxfan101 Nov 1 2006, 03:02 PM

I like how PJ Brown and Ben Wallace can dominate the inside game on defense.... B4 guys like Howard would be able to dominate us... not 2 sure about that now cool.gif

Posted by: Jo Jo English Nov 1 2006, 03:19 PM

This could be a real tough game for the Bulls. Factoring in the back-to-back aspect and coming off the emotional high that they must have had last night, this will be a very good challenge for the Bulls, mentally. The Magic are rested and looking to come out and establish themselves as one of the up-and-coming teams in the East. They know that knocking off this Bulls team would be a nice little statement from them to start their season.

It should be a very close game... and while I won't predict a loss... I would be very impressed with a victory.

Regardless... GO BULLS !!!!!

NBA League pass has a free preview this week so if you have access to those channels you'll be able to get the game.

My HD was supposed to come yesterday but instead it comes today. That said I won't set it up till the weekend now, just cause I need a buddy to come by and help me lift it onto the stand. Plus I need to get rid of my old tv first (giving it to the old man).

God I can't wait to watch the nationally televised Bulls games in HD.

You know sweets is in the dog house because when a PF goes down, TT, they activate a sub 6' point guard instead of him.

Wonder if Barret will get any playing time! LETS GO ANDRE!!!!!

Come on Skiles put Chopu in we need some energy!

Grant Hill isnt injured yet this season? Wow?

Posted by: BearSox Nov 1 2006, 06:35 PM

sloppy play so far. nice move by lil' ben.

We need Ben Gordon this season, IMO. He is our sharpshooter.

Posted by: DrunkBomber Nov 1 2006, 06:35 PM

Bulls have come out sloppy last two games. Second quarter is when they are gonna make a run but they need to play better early.

Posted by: BearSox Nov 1 2006, 06:38 PM

wow, the magic are hitting everything.

we need to capitalize on that foul.

there goes that

Have the Magic missed a shot yet? Sure doesn't feel like it. It has been a tough start, but there is still plenty of time to recover and make this a close game at the half. Then, we have 24 minutes to determine the winner... after all the early game excitement has subsided.

Just get the lead down to 5 points or so by the half.

Posted by: DBAH0 Nov 1 2006, 07:11 PM

Nice start by my Magic.

Nice to see Hill 5 for 5 after his sloppy shooting in the pre - season, and Dwight hitting his shots (he's going to be a monster this season).

You know the Bulls are going to come back though, so we've got to respond when that happens.

Orlando's FG% so far; .676%
Chicago's FT% so far; .588%

I'm honestly shocked we've got 58 points on you guys considering your defensive prowess.

I had better see more effort Friday night when I am at the game. If I have to see Ron Artest celebrating on our court I will be very unhappy.

Thankfully I think Coach Skiles is going to do his best to wake these guys up.... starting at half-time of this game. They may not be able to come back tonight, but they need to at least show up for a part of the game.

Yes, I would have to agree. The Bulls had plenty of games last season where they looked awful for stretches, then would either come back to win the game or at least make the final score respectable. So... nothing is over, indeed.

But I want to see some ENERGY out there.

I hate to say this... especially when the game isn't even over yet... but a loss isn't the worst thing in the world that could happen to this team tonight. After the pure joy that was last night's win over the Heat, a trip back to reality could be a good thing for the Bulls. This could be a good coaching tool for Skiles. A reminder that they are not 42 points better than the Heat, nor are they 20+ points per game worse than the Magic. That each game's outcome will be determined by how hard they work and how well they execute their offense and game plan. A blow out win doesn't mean anything to the team you are matched up against the next night.

A good lesson for a young team.

Posted by: Jo Jo English Nov 1 2006, 08:15 PM

Even though the "showing up the officials" rule has hurt us in a couple of games, I still like the basic premise.

My opinion could be altered severly however if, after the first couple of weeks, we see the officials are not calling it on the superstar players or players that have established a reputation of being a "pain in the A".

For example, I don't want to see guys like Rasheed Wallace and Gary Payton getting an official to look away, instead of calling the T, because those players are so well known as guys that mouth off to the officials. Obviously Rasheed Wallace will get called for this a lot... I mean... A LOT... but what I want is him to be called for it nearly every time, not once every three or four games. If our guys (Hinrich and Nocioni) are getting hit like this... we should be seeing the officials make this call about 3 or 4 times every damn game.

Call it every time... or re-evaluate the rule.

Yeah, I agree. While the Bulls are not as bad as they look tonight, and the Magic are not as good, Orlando began to establish themselves as a very solid team last season, and tonight isn't a big surprise.

Dwight Howard is a MONSTER down low... Jameer Nelson is a very good point guard who has yet to touch his ceiling... and they have some nice role players there that will make this team VERY tough to beat on some nights when they are clicking on all cylinders (like tonight).

Dwight Howard will be a top-5 player in the NBA within the next few seasons. He really is an outstanding young athlete, and person. The Magic fans should be very excited about him.

Wait, the 2006/07 version of Dwight Howard isn't as "good" as the 2006/07 version of Shaq?

Couldn't disagree more.

Yeah, if you take both players at the same age, I'll take Shaq... but that is not the way this works. Ask any Heat fan. Well, any that is being truthful. They would all trade an aging, sometimes ineffective Shaq, for an up and coming DOMINANT F/C like Dwight Howard.

Who would you rather have down low 3 ft from the basket tonight, Shaq or Howard? I'd take shaq anyday. Yeah Howard is probably a better all around player but I guess what I meant was downlow scoring. Shaq is a 60% shooter EVERYear

Hey, I agree that Shaquille O'Neal is one of the very best players to ever play the game. Well, at least one of the most dominant players to ever play. But, check the statistics for each player for this season, at the end of THIS season.

Tell me which you would have rather had for this year. Don't compare careers. Just, come May '07, compare regular seasons statistics.

I am willing to bet my house that most will take Dwight Howard, as well they should.

I am very willing to bet that Mr. Dwight Howard is going to have a monster year statistically. I could easily envision him somehwere around 23 ppg and 12 rpg.

Yep, that is right. Coming out of this 1-1, with two road games complete, and a good lesson for the young players about winning on the road, is not a bad way to start the season.

Get a solid win on Friday and all is looking well for the opening week of the season.

Of course it would have been nice to win this game. Oh well, no team goes undefeated. Even the best team of all-time lost 10 games.

But look at the bright side. We have still outscored our opponents by 27 points this year!

The Magic were on fire today, they made a lot of well defensed baskets. And we were super sloppy on offense.... I still think we are the better team but oh well. I dont understand why the NBA would set up the schedule to give a team a doubleheader right away while the other team had the night off... and to top it off give the team that was off the home game.

That was an ugly game, but hey the Bulls came out and played sluggish and weren't ready. Hopefully they learn from it and don't let it happen again.

I still expect some growing pains with so many new players playing with each other. At times I expect us to look like world beaters (see Miami game) while at other times we may look like garbage (Magic game).

Yep, that game was not so much fun to watch, BUT they will bounce back, they always do.
Coming back to their home crowd 1-1 is much better than being 0-2...and when we got the win it was done with authority, and against the champs. They will be fine, but I thought they could've used Tyrus' energy last night; he's nuts.

Yep, as a team, they are somewhere in between the one that slaughtered Miami and the one that took a dump in Orlando, albeit much closer to the former.

They are a top 5 team in this league, and arguably the best team in the Eastern Conference. Looking like complete and utter crap from time to time won't change that.

Really, the only team that I would hate to meet in the Eastern Conference Finals would be a healthy Indiana squad. They have a brilliant head coach, great defensive personnel, and some high percentage scoring punch. Make no mistake about it; that is one dangerous squad, when healthy.

Bring on the Heat, Pistons, and Cavs, though. Those are the teams that I want to see in the playoffs. I think that we can smother them with our depth.

6. Nocioni
7. Thomas
8. Duhon
9. Sefolosha
10. Khryapa
11. Griffin
12. Allen

That's some nice depth.

Dwight Howard, Jameer Nelson, and Grant Hill combined to shoot 80% from the field (27 attempts) and 90% from the free throw line (26 attempts). By the time that all was said and done, they had scored 70 points as a trio.

IMO, they'd have taken out any team in the NBA last night. When you think about it along those lines, this loss doesn't hurt as much.
