Well that got me thinkin, even though we have Kirk, do you think we should draft Mike Conley if he declares for the draft? Assuming guys like Oden, Durant, Horford are gone? I love this kid. He showed true leadership and doesn't turn the ball over alot. What do you think? |

If Capt. Kirk's salary was necessary for a deal to bring someone like KG or Gasol to the Bulls, which it would likely be if such a deal were to be made, Conley would be a non-terrible replacement. But putting in a rookie point guard could put another year or two worth of delay in the Bulls being able to put together a genuine title run. Drafting a big is still a much better plan unless someone offers us something for Hinrich we'd judge as a steal, like a KG or Gasol nearly straight-up.

No way. This teams core has been built nicely and to get rid of the captain for a rookie would be a bad move at this point.

Sign me up. I never really liked Kirk as our PG anyway. Maybe because he's not really a point guard. He has played a lot better the last couple of months but he's still not the $9+ million man they signed. Either way, I would love to get Conley as a backup. It would give us an option if we ever did decide to trade Gordon or Kirk. We could even move Kirk over to SG and have Conley run the show if we wanted to trade Gordon.
Conley is a great guard. He's a good passer and he gets to the basket with ease. He makes great decisions and he's very young. He's only going to get better. |
