TalkBulls Forums _ Bulls Talk _ Add Gerald Greens Name to the pot

KC Johnson: Nice read on Gerald Green by @Jonathan Abrams, who is on Bulls' radar according to @Peter Vecsey.

Looking at his stats he's an interesting player. He had a pretty good year last year but before that he hasn't looked that great. He was out of the league 2 years ago and his playing time and games played the previous 2 years has been very limited Has he dealt with injury issues or was he just not that highly thought of?

If he can put up the numbers he did last year (12 ppg on 48% shooting) he'd be a welcome addition...Hes listed as a guard/forward which is what the Bulls need.

I like it. He seemed to turn a corner with the Nets last year...and he can run with Rose. Catch oops.

And maybe he'll be a defender under Thibs.

Green is way more interesting than the other people they've been connected to. He's big, a great athlete and can hit 3's. He was very solid last year, though in the past he's had issues with his shot selection. Certainly more upside than getting a veteran retread.

I agree, could end up being a nice choice as Hamilton's successor. Wouldn't want to pay too terribly much though.

Seems like he's starting to get the mental part of the game down because he's certainly always had the talent. He's a classic case of why the NBA had decided to dis-allow high schoolers from making the jump to the NBA. He wasn't quite ready and it got him out of the league within no time. Now it seems like he's started to mature a lot as a player and his growing confidence is showing up in his stats from this past season. He only played in 30 or so games but he really proved he can play if given the opportunity. I'd be pretty happy if the Bulls were able to land him as a backup 2/3. I've always been on the Bulls for not being athletic enough. Green would definitely fit that bill.

I'm 90% certain it can't work under the cap, but I'd be real happy with scoring a trio of Lee, Green, and Kirk in FA.

He wouldn't be a bad option for the Bulls.

I'd be ecstatic about Gerald Green in comparison to a lot of re-tread names we have been hearing.

At least he could this this every once in a while: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOzo4pHTZ-M

Good lord. That's ridiculously impressive to do an alley-oop windmill during a game.

http://www.netsdaily.com/2012/7/11/3153730/gerald-green-leaving-for-pacers, 3 years $10 million (Bulls could not match this without the full MLE available).
