Chanlder Ready To Go
Updated:12:11 PM
Much to the relief of Bulls fans concerned about Shaquille O'Neal awaking from his two-game nap in Chicago, 7-foot defensive specialist Tyson Chandler pronounced his injured right ankle fit for Tuesday night's Game 5.

Chandler participated in the Bulls' morning shoot-around and ambled around much smoother than he did 24 hours earlier wearing a walking boot. The progress encouraged coach Scott Skiles enough to say the injury likely would not affect the Bulls' normal rotation with Chandler being the first big man off the bench.

Even a limited Chandler will help combat the physical advantage the Heat enjoy in the paint thanks to O'Neal, who was off his game during Games 3 and 4 due to foul trouble and the Bulls improved position defense.

"We'll bring [Chandler] in at the normal time and see how he is,'' Skiles said. "I'd say it was a very mild sprain.''

After the Heat's light workout, Dwyane Wade admitted that Chandler's iffy ankle might make Miami more likely to go at the 7-footer with O'Neal and Alonzo Mourning than they normally would. Chandler welcomed the challenge.

"They might but it doesn't matter,'' Chandler said with a giant ice pack around his ankle. "Whatever they try, I'm ready for it.''

The good news might have relieved Chandler as much as Bulls fans and coaches. He feared it was much worse when he landed awkwardly Sunday and was carried off the floor by teammate Luke Schenscher and trainer Fred Tedeschi. Most of pain was centered near his Achilles' tendon and foot and X-rays were negative. And now the prognosis is much more positive than expected.

"Both teams are going to bring it,'' Chandler said. "Let's go.''[SIZE=14][B][U][SIZE=14]

Hopefully this won't limit his effectiveness, but yeah, we sure need the guy tonight.
