With Pargo gone, and no 3rd point guard on the Bulls roster (for now). One guy that's intregued me thus far in Summer league play is John Gilchrist (Former Maryland Point guard).

Gilchrist is 6'3, 200 ibs piont guard who is playing very well in the summer leagues. He was projected to be drafted in the mid second round in the 2005 NBA draft but never was drafted due to his off court issues.

Now, 2 years after the fact, he's still battling the playing strong and still believing. He's averaging 12 pts, 4 rebs, 4 assts, 1 steal per game in 3 games while playing 21 minutes a game.

Clearly, he's trying to put his past troubles behind him and is evident with his strong play in this year's summer league. I bet a ton of scouts are looking at this guy right now.

I think we should at least have a look at this kid when the summer league is over, if no other team picks him up, he would definately be more than a servicable player for us at the 3rd point guard position.

What do you guys think???

I'm going to have to agree with sf101 here. Sefo will be our 3rd PG. For that matter, Ben could be a 4th PG if you want to consider it that way. But if we fo get a true 3rd PG, it will come from the Summer League team.

I have to agree with you guys, the Bulls need no more PGs......we had 3 last year and not enough minutes to go around. I say if we get hit with injuries down the road sign one then not now and to a 10 day contract.

I think Cedric Banks will make the team and be the new Janero Pargo. That energetic undersized guard who can provide an uptempo life off the bench. Shoot 5 times in 2 minutes then head back to the bench.

I always did like the guy at UIC (and he played for Westinghouse in Chicago if I am not mistaking?)

I think he is a better dribbler and passer then Pargo.

I think it will be Aaron Miles. He has played really well and is a true PG.

I don't see them sticking on the roster unless the bulls move one of

Kirk, Ben, Duhon, Smith, or Thabo.

we have too many guards

as well as miles played, i think he is playing for scouts more than for our coaches, that's just the reality of our roster right now, but he was definately player of the game

I :wub Ced but he didn't play the point at UIC cause they had one of the better pg's in the nation in Martell Bailey. Because of Banks size he's probably not going to have much of a chance to do anything in the nba.

Ironically, Martel Bailey was on the Bulls summer league team in 2005.

Yeah I liked him too. He would win you 2-3 games a year getting hot off the bench. Most 11th or 12th men can't say that. With that said he was bad most of the time.

Looking at the stats Miles was as good or better than Banks in every way. Miles is a true PG anyway so the odds of him making the roster are much better. However, like people have said. Someone has to move first.
