Lotsa season starting notes from KC.
QUOTE
Whether Brewer does so as the starting shooting guard remains to be seen. Coach Tom Thibodeau, in a mild surprise, declared that position "up for grabs" after practice. Kyle Korver and Keith Bogans also are in the mix.

QUOTE
Brewer, by the way, noted similarities between Thibodeau and his former Jazz coach Jerry Sloan.

"They're both phenomenal teachers of the game who demand respect and perfection," Brewer said. "They make you pay attention to detail."

Accordingly, Thibodeau expressed displeasure with the end of Wednesday's morning session, calling it "a little loose."
Meanwhile, somewhere, VDN is telling his team that they're working too hard.

QUOTE
Taj Gibson said he had the same shock wave therapy Joakim Noah did last season to battle the plantar fasciitis that has plagued both of them. "I feel great now," Gibson said. … Thibodeau likened Noah's energy to that of Kevin Garnett. "I never see him low-energy," Thibodeau said. … Thibodeau is using former NBA officials, including local product Ron Olesiak, during practices, unusual for this early in camp. "We're striving to get it as game-like as possible," he said.

QUOTE
The era of the scrappy, undersized Bulls is officially over. This team looks huge compared to the recent versions. Shooting guard candidates Ronnie Brewer and Kyle Korver are both a legit 6-7. Keith Bogans (6-5) looks bigger than I remember him. On the front line, veteran Kurt Thomas stands just a shade below Joakim Noah, while Omer Asik brings another 7-footer to the front line. The Bulls should be in great shape at power forward with Carlos Boozer and Taj Gibson.

Me too.

You know how to bring it back? Deng and Noah for Anthony.

He looked at his hand, said "you're Carlos Boozer's hand" and immediately heard a crack.

It's a big blow, but not a crippling one. Look for Booze to return either by the start of the west road trip on November 16th or after the trip is over on Dec 1st. My guess would be the latter, but the Bulls should be fine as they're use to playing without him anyway. Rather lose him at the start of the season than at the end of it.

Just throwing this out there but I read a post on Real GM the other day that said Boozer filed for divorce the day after his incident... hmmmmmm. Dare I say? He made up that story to cover up what really happened, he was pissed at his wife and probably punched a wall or something and broke his hand. Happens alot to people that get uncontrollably mad.. Not surprised but his original story is a little hard to believe.

Bulls cut Lucas, Powell, and Weaver (yeah, those guys) from their roster. Their roster now stands at 13, leaving room for an additional signing if they choose to do so. With Boozer out it's hard to imagine them not filling one of those spots.
