That would be unbelievable.

This would be a stellar deal for the Bulls.

Actually Gibson played a pretty good game hustled, got on the boards, and blocked some shots. So IMO he exactly what was expected of him, while JJ played a really great game. He made plays in transition, on the post, and on the outside just like thorpe mentioned and I knew he could handle the ball, but impressed me alot w/ that aspect of his game.

Welcome aboard. I'm intrigued to see how Taj does. He's got a nice motor and should be a good role player. I liken him to a better defensive version of Carl Landry.

JJ is really impressive. I'm pretty excited about him.

Boozer for Tyrus, Jerome and a top pick would be stellar. Bulls could find a way to make another deal involving Deng or Hinrich and be in a position to still potentially make a max offer next season while keeping Boozer as well.

All I know is if it is Hinrich/Tyrus I'd support the deal regardless as long as we got Boozer. I would think we'd get a guard as well.

Jannero Pargo has agreed to a one-year deal worth approx $2 million with the Chicago Bulls, a league source told Y! Sports.

Nice pickup for the Bulls. Always liked Pargo's ability to score off the bench. Hopefully he can still do it. He played last year in the Euro Leagues.

Gar said that he loved Gibsons defensive versatility and specifically mentioned the ASU/USC game (Pac 10 tourney game which i happened to be at) where Gibson ended up getting switched onto Harden numerous times and himself and USC shut Harden down that night. He had like 2 points at half time or something.

Gibson should fit in good. Won't be a star but a very solid role player.

PHEW. My guess is Phoenix wanted too much or Golden State realized Amare was going to be one and done.

What is everyone's take. I can't say I thought we'd get an impact guy, Johnson seems intriguing and I liked Taj a lot at USC. When he was healthy he was a pretty good player and I can see him being a very solid defensive player. I almost look at him like a Carl Landry though which might be a good thing. He might be effective in spurts but I was surprised the Bulls went that route, especially with Blair on the board.

Sergio Rodriguez and 38 to SAC for 31 (Pendergraph).

I would have given up our 26th pick for Sergio Rodriguez.

If that rumored Warriors/Suns deal is an actual offer, the Suns would be insane not to accept, and there'd be no way the Bulls could beat it.

Ya that is way more than I saw any other news source report that the Warriors were going to give up. That is a great deal for the Suns, imo, assuming they've written off Amare staying with them or decided they don't want him.

Evidently it is Biedrens and the 7. The same source said Kerr was on the Phone with the Bulls for 2 hours today. So who knows. I hope the latter part is true and the first part isn't smile.gif

A poster on Real GM Suns site who is evidently Amare's neighbor and has broken other Suns news in the past is saying that the Warriors/Suns deal is a done deal.

If so, I'm freaking livid. Amare would be such an upgrade.

Could the Magic have the highest salary in the league next year?

I still have to imagine the Lakers, Knicks, Spurs, Celtics, and Mavs would be right there with them. If Kobe gets the deal reported and they somehow bring back both Lamar and Ariza that will be a MASSIVE payroll.

Chad Ford answering a Bulls question in his most recent Q&A

QUOTE
Josh (Nebraska)

Hi Andy! What are my Bulls doing tonight? Any big deals going down involving Hinrich, Thomas or hopefully something for Stoudemire?

Andy Katz
The Bulls are talking trades but nothing substantial yet.

Sounds like no one has a clue what the Bulls are doing and who they are talking about, other than just generic that they know Gar has been on the phones. Who knew the org went back to the krause years where no one outside has any clue of what the Bulls are going to do (not necessarily a bad thing, but damn it I want some juicy gossip). That said I'd rather see us make a big move and have it go down than us get all excited and wet over nothing. Ie, I'd rather get the girl than watch the stripper.

The only way the Suns would be under the cap next year is if they let both Amare and Nash walk correct? In other words...if they can grab Chandler without going anywhere near luxury tax territory, they're not really in a position where they can be thinking about 2010 expirings...they have to worry about whether they're losing their own guys, and they're not going to be making huge moves with that contract.

I think the Suns could position themselves to be in a spot to go after 2010 but maybe I'm wrong. And how unlikely is it that Amare and Nash leave cause I'd put the odds on that being pretty good. Nash might stick around but he won't be the center piece to the team anymore.

QUOTE (Balta1701-B @ Jun 25 2009, 02:10 PM) *
Do the Nets get a lot of cap relief out of that?

I.e. players for Lebron James again?

Here's a better answer

QUOTE
This does not end the Magic's pursuit of free agent small forward Hedo Turkoglu, but it certainly makes it harder for Hedo to consider leaving town. The Magic have every intention of continuing their pursuit of Turkoglu.

The deal still lacks league approval, but has cleared all hurdles en route to New York offices.

Quick look at the dollars: This is a huge financial commitment from the Orlando Magic. It adds roughly $16 million to their salary commitments for both 2010-11 and 2011-12, when Carter will be approaching 35 years of age. It also adds a little over $2 million to their obligations for 2009-10, which is what will impact the money they have available for Turkoglu.

Remember, they can re-sign Turkoglu with his Bird Rights, but they have previously indicated they would only exceed the Luxury Tax level for the right set of personnel. Are Turkoglu and Carter together the right set?

For the Nets this saves them a little over $2 million in 2009-10 and obviously a ton more in the following two seasons. They can keep Lee for very cheap for three more seasons, and can save even more money should they choose to waive Alston, whose contract is not fully guaranteed.
Image

So basically the Nets are saving a fortune and getting Courtney Lee out of the deal long term. Magic are taking a shot that VC is the guy that puts them over the top. And offensively the Magic would certainly be able to score with VC/Dwight/Rashard/Hedo

Not sure but I'd have to assume they are expiring deals or something. I'm sure they are happy to be done with Vince as they've been trying to trade him for a while, but still, you'd think they could have gotten better value, but maybe not. Sets the market for the Tmac sweepstakes.

Rumor:
QUOTE
Wallace is an expiring $14 million contract that could also provide the Suns more immediate financial relief with a buyout (although he would still count as a $14 million salary for luxury tax purposes). Chandler's contract goes into the 2010-11 season at about $13 million.

If the Suns make this move it would be an indication that they are not just looking at finances but talent because taking on Chandlers contract is a move to get better talent (Tyson is better than Wallace) but financially is dump.

Oh and quite frankly I don't see why you make that trade if you are the Suns. I don't think Chandler is the type of guy you give up a 2010 expiring (which is what Wallace is) for.

Knicks have bought the 29th pick from the Lakers for $3M in cash. Lakers also receive a 2nd round pick. Hell of a deal for the Lakers. $3M is a lot of money for a pick at the back-end of the draft, especially when you don't even know if the guy you are targeting will be there at pick 28.

One rumor, per ESPN, has Amare headed to Golden State:
QUOTE
League executives say the Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors have discussed a possible trade that is centered around sending Amare Stoudemire to the Warriors for a package that would include Andris Biedrins and the No. 7 pick in the draft. But Warriors coach Don Nelson is telling friends that there’s nothing seriously brewing there

Deal doesn't make that much sense to me. At least not from the Suns perspective.
