The current #7 team in the East playoff race comes in today, a mere 4.5 games ahead of us. We're probably not going to catch them honestly, but if we want to slip past the Nets and Hawks for that 8th spot, we need to beat this team.
Play the damn kids. 30 minutes each for Noah, Tyrus, and Gooden. Please. And get Thabo 20-25 if he's healthy enough to handle it. |

So you like Boylan's small, PF-less lineups? Nope, but I like the line-ups that have a true PF in Drew Gooden. Put it this way, a line-up of Hinrich/Hughes/Deng/Gooden/Noah with Gordon, Noc, Thabo, Gray, and Tyrus coming off the bench is good enough for at least the 5th seed if you have the right coach. |

If you read the 30/30/30 minute math, that basically splits the minutes evenly between those 3. If you just give 30/30 to Noah and Gooden, as you wrote, but deliberately avoid adding TT in to that equation, then you're leaving us either playing Gray + Tyrus for 36 minutes or going with the small, Noc/Deng at PF lineup that Boylan keeps ineffectively forcing the team to play. |

I just noticed something a little bit ago. As a rookie, Andre Iguodala averaged about 9 points per game. He averaged 12.3 points per game as a sophomore. But the wierd thing is...he did that while starting 82 games each season, and playing 32 and 37 minutes per game in each of those 2 seasons. Now, in his 4th year, he's developed into a 20 point per game scorer who plays 40 minutes a night at age 23.
If you take the minutes Iguodala got as a rookie...and compare them to the minutes Tyrus Thomas has gotten in 1.75 seasons...Tyrus would have to average somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 minutes per game for the rest of this season just to equal in 2 seasons the number of minutes Iguodala got in his first season. And on top of it, per minute played, Tyrus has been more effective of a scorer and of a rebounder than Iguodala was as a rookie in both of Tyrus's seasons. At the current going rate for minutes, it would take Tyrus 5 seasons to gather up as many minutes as it took Iguodala to develop into a >15 point per game player. |

You know, I kinda doubt it will last, but suddenly I'm getting the "they're snapping out of it" feeling.

Jeez, this is getting beyond ridiculous. They're different kinds of players, and Igoudala has his head on straight unlike Thomas. |

I missed the part where Tyrus played with ballhog extraordinare Allen Iverson for the first 2 and a half years of his career. A lot of guys would get held back a bit in the scoring department with him around. In fact, Iguodala's scoring average shot up to 18 a game the minute Iverson got hurt and later traded, from just under 14 the month or so before that happened. Plus we'll just ignore the fact that he was averaging about 6 boards, 3 assists, and 1.6 steals while shooting about 50% from the field before that. But anything that might in some way defend Tyrus and his inability to steal playing time from decent but not stellar players I guess. Oh, and the Bulls happen to be up 13 in the 4th right now. |

Nice freaking defense. Outscored 40-20 in the 4th quarter. Un-freaking-believable.
