Enjoy!!!!

Posted by: GreatScott82 Jun 28 2007, 12:24 PM

As of right now i expect the Bulls will draft Spencer Hawes with the 9th pick. I just don't see Pax pulling off any trades this year. If Noah is still available, i hope Pax still goes with Hawes now that i think about it. Noah would be a great energy spark off the bench, but he wouldn't provide the team w/ their biggest weakness- that damn low post presence we've been missing since Curry had a regular heart beat.

My biggest concern is that it will take some time for Hawes to develop at the pro level.

Posted by: SoxFan1 Jun 28 2007, 12:42 PM

Please don't pick Tyrus Thomas part 2. Last year I wanted Aldridge, and we got Thomas. This year, I want Hawes, and we get....

I dont think Hawes is nearly as good as everyone here makes him out to be. Only because after Oden he is the 2nd best C is to me the only real reason he is getting so much love.

He has a better low post game than Oden, how much does that say?

I beg to differ. Oden was playing with one hand until late in those NCAA tourney games. He had 25 and 12 in the Championship game where he was nearly 100%. Now is where will get to see him play at full strength because he was shooting with his opposite hand which made him look worse. Certainly at this point he doesn't have great post moves but his strength and the ability to use his strong hand puts him ahead of Hawes IMO.

Man, Noah is a real odd bird

Posted by: greasywheels121 Jun 28 2007, 05:18 PM

Cheese doodles.

Posted by: SoxFan1 Jun 28 2007, 05:19 PM

Sources say Oden 1, Durant 2. Hawks take Horford 3, Memphis takes Conley 4. Celts trade 5th pick for Ray Allen, Sonics pick Green. Bucks take Yi 6th. Pacers then, still suck.

Posted by: greasywheels121 Jun 28 2007, 05:26 PM

No argument here.

Posted by: Chicago Bulls Franchise Jun 28 2007, 05:28 PM

Nobody wants to go to Boston, can Ainge just stfu so we can quit hearing rumors about how their going to trade to get better (worse).

Im anxious to see if they're any trades and if there are if its the Bulls.

Posted by: Chisoxfn Jun 28 2007, 05:40 PM

Wow...5th pick for Ray Allen. That seems like a low return for the Sonics. I also don't see how Allen really fits in with Pierce there. Unless they have a Pierce deal in the works.

Closing in on this thing. I'm surprised there have been like no rumors.

Posted by: Chicago Bulls Franchise Jun 28 2007, 05:40 PM

And were underway!

Posted by: DrunkBomber Jun 28 2007, 05:42 PM

Any chance of Durant going first?

Posted by: SoxFan1 Jun 28 2007, 05:43 PM

Oden it is.

Posted by: DrunkBomber Jun 28 2007, 05:44 PM

No doubt...but with Ainge you never know. Afterall he traded for 18 zillion point guards last year.

Williams was insanely touted but super raw and Atlanta hasn't been able to develop squat. They also have a completely gluttony of wing players.

Allen to Boston for 5, West, Sczerbiak = done.

The Celtics are in denial if they think Ray Allen is gonna make them a contender. He'll make them better, but the whole goal is to win a championship, right? I don't see how a trade like this accomplished that. They need to strap it up and rebuild the right way by taking high quality, hard working draft pics (i.e. the Bulls). Now, they just got older when they need to be getting younger. Ainge sucks.

As for Atlanta drafting Horford, I hope this comes back to bite the Hawks in the ass. I know it's been known for awhile that they'd take Horford, but I really really wanted Memphis to get him to put him next to Pau. Oh well...

I don't think it would be very smart taking him. They should take a guy they know will play for them. However, if they do take Yi, I imagine they won't even try to convince him to play for them, but rather try to spin him off to another team like Golden St.

I dont know how a franchise drafts a player that refused to work out for them, unlike college players can go back to his country and play and only way they get anything out of him is a trade. And the Warriors can say take this deal or you get nothing at all because Yi wont play for Milwaukee.

I should have known Charlotte would have taken the UNC guy. Damn. I officially want to trade the pick, but I could be happy with Al Thornton value wise.

Was Thornton ever brought in? I wouldn't be opposed to a deal down as long as they thought they could get Thornton or Smith or have Hawes slide down there as well. Either way I see the squad feeling a need. Plus i've learned to trust in Pax.

I don't see this as much of a problem. It still opens up the options for a Kobe Bryant deal centered around Ben Wallace, Ben Gordon, and someone else (if Kobe puts a gun to there head).

Noah is athletic, has decent touch (can at least shoot some free throws) and will be the biggest guy on the Bulls (he is a legit 7 ft). I just hope we can get him some better offensive game.

I think it's perfect. I don't like the makeup of the team anyways, quite frankly.

Posted by: Soxbadger Jun 28 2007, 06:38 PM

Yeah Miss Sweden or something.

And I jsut think that Noah really does not add much to the Bulls and basically would have preferred them trading the pick.

A top 10 selection should do 1 of 2 things:

A) Be a player with tremendous upside who will likely make multiple All-Star games

cool.gif Be a player that fits a need.

Noah I dont think fits either of these. He most likely will be solid defender, but unspectacular.

And he really doesnt fit a need for the bulls because the bulls need a post player who can score, not another player with limited offense who can play defense. They already have Thomas and Wallace, and while Noah is taller his game is very similar.

So maybe they are thinking of trading Tyrus, because if they did that Noah would make a ton more sense.

I would of liked Yi or Brandon more than either of them but Hawes to me is just not the answer. He lacks good athletism, doesnt rebound, and was only a freshmen so he wasnt going to help in the immediate future anyways. Noah is a gifted defender and a great rebounder, also is very athletic. To me he can be our future Ben Wallace almost except better offensively and able to hit a free throw with consistency.

Noah is a teller, less athletic Tyrus Thomas...just what we needed.

Posted by: SleepyWhiteSox Jun 28 2007, 06:52 PM

I'm not entirely mad with the pick just because I think that the piece that we really needed/need should have/has to come through trade. We still need that go-to low-post guy, and, although I am the first to admit I did not see much at all of hawes, I don't think he would have been the answer.

Posted by: mmmmmbeeer Jun 28 2007, 06:53 PM

He was easily the most athletic big man available. A 7 footer who can run the floor and move like Noah is a prize. I don't think he fits what the bulls need to complement their current roster, but from a talent perspective this was a good pick, imo.

Let's see what else Pax has up his sleeve to make changes before the start of the season.

I have no huge problem with the pick of Noah. I don't think anyone we could have had pushes us to the next level. A trade for Zach Randolph or Pau Gasol, or even KG, would do the trick. But this current team does not make it past the second round in the 2008 playoffs.

He won't score in the NBA. I see him as a valuable player and a good energy guy, but I wouldn't count on him to be a scorer. And like I said, I wouldn't count on him pushing us to the next level.

This team was one piece short of being in the Finals, only a trade will satisfy me right now.

Posted by: Soxbadger Jun 28 2007, 07:01 PM

Either the Bulls are going to trade 1 of: Wallace, Thomas, or Noah, or they believe that one of those 3 is going to develop some sort of offensive game. Otherwise this pick no matter how good Noah may be, will be detrimental to the Bulls.

If 2 of wallace, Tyrus, and Noah, cant play at the same time and score points in the paint, then this pick is wasted.

I can understand the value, Noah might have been a top 3 pick last year, now is available at 9, but still, the Bulls most pressing need is scoring points.

That being said, if Noah can some how develop a mid range jump shot, hook shot, etc, this could be a steal. He is going to have to get stronger and more physical, but if he can even draw defenders a bit away from the basket he could legitimately score 10-15 points and provide solid defense and rebounding.

I guess I could talk myself into liking this pick, but it all depends on on Noah developing an offensive game to fit the NBA. He also needs to improve his ft's, which would help him score more points.

But for Portland its great because now they have Lamarcus and Oden downlow, and Francis and Roy at guard. Great trade for them and they already have a good bench I guess all they need is a small forward because Oduka isnt much.

Posted by: sport1016 Jun 28 2007, 07:31 PM

r u kidding me with the knicks trade?

Randolph and Curry are never gonna work

It's exactly why JO and Harrington couldnt play together last year and they had to blow it up. They both play the same way in the same place on the court.

Randolph and Curry will never coexist well. They occupy the same space on the floor. Between the two of them, a swinging gate in the wind would be better defense in the paint.

and doesnt portland need a sf? Isnt that what they wanted to use randolph for? Channing Frye? He's a worse aldridge, right? Isn't Richard Jefferson for ZBo (an earlier rumor) a much better deal for portland?

I've always been a big fan of Frye. I wound't mind getting him for maybe Duhon and Noc, who would immediately start at PG and SF for Portland. TT would get more PT at SF to replace Noc, so we'd still have enough minutes to go around for Big Ben, TT, Noah, and Frye. Talk about a much, much improved front court as compared to last year.

As talented as Francis is, it doesn't seem like he cares anymore. More importantly, I don't think he's the type of player Portland will want around it's players. I think he was only included in the trade to match salaries. I could see them just cutting him and eating his salary.

Yeah, looks like they did. Good call.

Well, Dudley went higher than expected. Though, I think he'll be pretty good. Kinda like a Josh Howard-type late pick.

Umm, you traded Channing Frye, Spike...

Wow Stephen A is giving the Knicks credit.

I still think Portland would want to move Francis. Than again Francis doesn't have the attitude problems Randolph has but I still figure they'd rather have other types of veterans around there young core.

Frye is a nice fit though.

Spike Lee is a freaking MORON. So they are saying Wilson Chandler.

Well, Portland buys another pick from PHX just like last year. What's up with PHX not wanting young players? I guess they just really must not have liked anyone available. At least they could be acquiring some young guys for future trade opportunities.

Alot of interesting names left, Big Baby, Aaron Gray, Nick Fazekas, Aaron Afllalo, Mario Bogan I think is in draft, Tiago Splitter. Hoping one of them lands to us in round 2.

Wow..J Rich for Brandon Wright. Interesting move.

Wright gives the Warriors a good big but I don't know if Wright exactly fits Golden State's system. I would have thought Golden State would have had more interest in a guy like Noah (maybe they tried but couldn't get him from the Bulls).

And I'm not sure I get this deal for Charlotte, considering they are still a ways away, but Jrich is a pretty good player.

Well, I could see why Charlotte would make this trade. If they think May is good enough next to Okafor down low, then they don't need Wright as much. Plus, with Wallace possibly leaving, they fill a scoring need (as previously mentioned by some of you).
PG- Felton
SG- JRich
SF- Morrison
PF- May
C- Okafor

Not terrible, especially if Morrison can become the offensive player he was supposed to be.

No way, it's the opposite actually. What the hell would be the point of getting Allen if you're going to trade Pierce for young guys? They're clearly trying to win now with those guys, which actually isn't a terrible plan with Rondo/Jefferson/Green/Gomes/Allen developing around them, assuming of course Pierce and Allen can co-exist...

Exactly. He may not have been a great early/mid 1st rounder, but I think he has great value as a 2nd rounder. Heck, even if a team had gotten him at like 26 or 27, I would have said it was a good value pick.

But Sweetney is also in much worse shape than Davis in terms of up and down the court and not getting gassed every 12 seconds.

A Sweetney that can stay on the court for extended periods of time in the 2nd round? Sign me up.

Okay, but why the hell would Indiana do that (or Memphis, or Minnesota)? You're just trading one guy that can't carry a franchise for another, only Pierce is older and a guard. Anyone that has a post player that they'd deal will want young pieces, not an expensive vet like Pierce.

Well a third team could clearly be involved. That third team could be the Lakers and who knows, maybe a 4th would even be involved with Pierce eventually replacing Kobe in LA and the Bulls picking up Kobe.

I'm just saying I'd be stunned if Pierce is wearing a Celtics uni next year. Just like I'd be stunned to see all those bigs on Portland at the start of the season.

I agree on the latter point, but Pierce was the one demanding a trade for a veteran, while Ainge was the one saying that #5 wasn't going anywhere. If Pierce were really on his way out, they'd have almost certainly used the pick to take either Brewer or Yi and keep accumulating young assets like he's done the last several years.
