I'd love nothing more for him to break out and reach his potential but I just don't see it in him.

I know it was only preseason, but Tyrus was one of the better looking players tonight. His jumper looks a lot better and even though he took that ill advised shot after hustling for his own rebound, he prefaced it with a quick head face that ended up drawing a foul. I haven't looked at the box score but he had at least 2 blocks and was milliseconds away from at least 2 or 3 more. I'm starting to think there is something to all the offseason reports speaking to his improved maturity.
Put me down for 30+ minutes 12-14 pt and 8 or so reb |

Put me down for 30+ minutes 12-14 pt and 8 or so reb 19 minutes, 2-5 from the field, 6 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block, 1 assist and 2 turnovers officially. I'll admit I didn't watch, but it looks like a fairly good but not great line. I have more faith in him consistently producing rebounds/steals/blocks than points, even if the jumper has improved again he's not really a guy that trys to create a shot with regularity, so his attempts will likely be more limited. |

Tyrus is lookin' good. Get the fg% up and we have a stud on our hands. (His continued progress at the charity stripe is pretty damn awesome)

Tyrus is lookin' good. Get the fg% up and we have a stud on our hands. (His continued progress at the charity stripe is pretty damn awesome) His rebounding and D look a lot better, but he's still terrible on offense outside of the FT drawing/making, and he'd be the first non-elite scorer I can think of that gets that kind of love from the refs over the course of the entire season (5 made FT's is A LOT). He certainly looks like a starting-caliber player now, but I have a hard time seeing him score without a major leap forward. The FG% has been awful for a reason. I don't mean to single out Tyrus here either, most of the offense has looked pretty putrid this entire pre-season (outside of Rose, Gordon's one-game cameo, and Noc hitting some open jumpers against the second units). |
