So let's see...
Creating more playing time for the young bigs? Check. Getting a post scorer who's a better fit for our team than Wallace or Smith? Check. Moving Wallace's contract? Check. Adding Larry Hughes's contract? Well, that's a negative on paper...but if we were to feel inclined to move Ben Gordon, that gives us significantly more flexibility at the guard position. |

I love this trade for several reasons but the best is that we get Gooden. When we played the Cavs earlier this year he was stepping back and hitting everything from about 17 feet and also has the ability to punish defenders in the paint. Hes young, long and will take the pressure off of our guards to win every game from the 3 point line.
As Balta just pointed out we accomplished alot with this move and its really a positive step for the Bulls. Thanks for finally pulling the trigger Pax!!!!!! |

Here is the ESPN version
http://boards.espn.go.com/boards/mb/mb?spo...89433&lid=0 QUOTE Sources: Cavs get Wallace from Bulls, Szczerbiak from Sonics
By Marc Stein ESPN.com (Archive) Updated: February 21, 2008, 3:57 PM ET * Comment The Cleveland Cavaliers appear to have beaten the NBA's annual trade buzzer to get LeBron James some of the fresh help he's been openly craving. In a three-way trade with Chicago and Seattle that has been submitted for league approval, NBA front-office sources say that Cleveland will come away with four new teammates for James, headlined by Ben Wallace from the Bulls and sharpshooter Wally Szczerbiak from the Sonics. The league office was notified of the deal before Thursday's 3 p.m. ET trading deadline, sources said, and is currently reviewing the trade details as required for formal approval. After Cleveland watched two longstanding trade targets land elsewhere -- Mike Bibby in Atlanta and Jason Kidd in Dallas -- sources say that the deal calls for the Cavaliers to receive Wallace, Szczerbiak, Seattle point guard Delonte West, Chicago's Joe Smith and a future second-round pick from the Bulls. The Bulls, apparently abandoning their gamble on Wallace less than two seasons into the lucrative four-year deal they used to sign him away from Detroit, would get Cavaliers forward Drew Gooden and swingman Larry Hughes along with Cavs reserves Cedric Simmons and Shannon Brown. The Sonics, shedding Szczerbiak in the name of additional payroll flexibility, come away with the expiring contracts of Cleveland's Ira Newble and Chicago's Adrian Griffin as well as Cavs veteran Donyell Marshall. |

ESPN have released a revised trade, Adrian Griffin is out but No Duhon involved plus we get Shannon Brown on top of the initial three. Brown is a great pick up, I watched him play in the Chicago All Star Game this year at the UC and hes got a great vertical. He must have had half a dozen dunks in the game at least and was changing gears really quickly. I was impressed!
Now I know it was just an exhibition but you cant fake speed or athleticism and he has definitely got both to spare! http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3257159 |
