What is everyone's take. I can't say I thought we'd get an impact guy, Johnson seems intriguing and I liked Taj a lot at USC. When he was healthy he was a pretty good player and I can see him being a very solid defensive player. I almost look at him like a Carl Landry though which might be a good thing. He might be effective in spurts but I was surprised the Bulls went that route, especially with Blair on the board.

I like the Johnson pick. He's very versatile. Gotta love someone with a ceiling of a Danny Granger. Gibson was a surprising pick, but I think he'll be a solid big off the bench.

Ricky Rubio is staying in Spain, per Kevin Love's Twitter via Rubio's father.

I HATE the Gibson pick. Would have rather had a shooter like Ellington or even Budinger or Summers. And if they HAD to draft another big I would have much rather had Pendergraph than Gibson.

My take: This was a very good draft if they resign Ben Gordon.

By reading some of the Bulls fans tweets I can tell they haven't seen many USC or Pac-10 games....

Gar said that he loved Gibsons defensive versatility and specifically mentioned the ASU/USC game (Pac 10 tourney game which i happened to be at) where Gibson ended up getting switched onto Harden numerous times and himself and USC shut Harden down that night. He had like 2 points at half time or something.

Gibson should fit in good. Won't be a star but a very solid role player.

As long as we don't need him to play SG.

You wanna talk big after being drafted 26th, bring it to the real game son. Shut the mouths of the doubters with your game, don't talk.

Seriously, he just went 26th in a terrible draft, now is probably not the time to talk.

I just don't see what he adds to the Bulls, we have skinny forwards with questionable shooting range that aren't really going to score in the post. If we end up moving Tyrus or Johnson that's one thing, but I just don't see him making much of an impact as the roster is currently constructed. A guard made a lot more sense.

The Johnson pick I was okay with. Atleast it wasn't Mullens. He can provide some strength down low and is a good transition player. Taj was a weak pick to me. Okay, he's a good defensive player that blocks shots.. We could have strengthened our scoring off the bench by getting Ellington (Esp. not knowing what is going to happen to Ben Gordon).

After more thought...the only way I think they do this draft as done is if they had some idea of where they're going in the future...i.e. will they be able to move people or sign Gordon.

I think we had a pretty good draft. I think it was unrealistic to think we could get some kind of superstar or even a starter with picks 16 and 26. At these spots, you generally get solid role players. I think Johnson will be a good player because of his versatility. Actually, if he can do anything down low and hits the outside shots like he did in college, he might be able to start at power forward. I think a guy like Gibson makes Tyrus expendable.
