Hey Everyone...I got this from Myspace's Bulls Group. The source may be the New York Post, but Im not sure...but I personally hope it is BS.
May 15, 2006 -- The Knicks and Bulls recently held trade discussions focusing on UConn star Ben Gordon, The Post has learned. According to sources in Chicago and a source close to Gordon, the Knicks were interested in acquiring the Mount Vernon native in exchange for, "one of the Knicks elite guards" and a No. 1 pick in next year's draft. The Post reported exclusively yesterday that the Knicks are looking into buying out coach Larry Brown and replacing him with GM Isiah Thomas, so any talks are in limbo. The source close to Gordon told The Post the 6-3 shooting guard, who won the NBA's 2005 Sixth Man of the Year Award, was happy in Chicago. But the source in Chicago pointed out that Gordon is better suited to playing the point, and Kirk Hinrich seems entrenched as the starting point guard. Gordon was unavailable to comment yesterday but he's expected to appear at Michael Jordon's restaurant, One Sixtyblue in Chicago on Wednesday to announce his new energy drink, BG7, as reported exclusively last week in The Post. Gordon averaged 16.9 points, three assists and 2.7 rebounds this season. Gordon has had some unbelievable games in the Garden as a collegian and would give the Knicks a young talent that is not bogged down by a long-term deal. According to published reports the Bulls have out feelers to gauge interest in Gordon. Not sure how reliable this is, but I sure hope it isnt true. Comments? Thoughts? Go nuts....its gonna be a long offseason. |

Ok..I'm not understanding something here...we have the right to swap picks with them in 2007 anyways? So why would this option be in the deal? |

I don't think Paxson is dumb enough to take either Marbury or Francis... they're basically the anti-christ to Scott Skiles.

Yeah Marbury and Francis wouldnt do anything for us and why would we want their pick when we already have the rights to switch it with ours. I can see us trading Gordon as much as I dont want them too but to the Knicks it aint happening.

I'll take Channing Frye and all of their picks through 2010 for "Air Gordon".
And I'll also take Steve Francis and Starbury in my YMCA league. |

People are always saying Kirk and Ben can't coexist. What the hell makes them think Kirk and Ben or Marbury and coexist, so that is dead. Next would be Ben for Quentin Richardson. Quentin is taller than Ben but Quentin seems to disappear during games. I think Ben for Channing Frye would be a good deal. I dont want to see Ben go at all. Im hoping this is just a rumor

I think the key quote is "the Bulls have out feelers for interest in Gordon".
IMO, the Knicks would be a horrible trading partner. I don't see any scenario that would help the bulls--unless Frye was part of the deal. But that doesn't rule out another team being a better fit. |

This is complete BS wont happen, Isiah doesnt know what he is looking for, his team was a joke this year, I expected them to make the playoffs and what do they do they flop in front of everyone and now talks of larry leaving is happening. Rumors go around quickly in New York, just look at the yankees.

I would hope the discussions with the Knicks went like this:
Paxson: Hello? Isiah: Hey Pax, it's Zeke! Wanted to know how you feel about swapping Ben Gordon for either Steve Francis/Stephon Marbury and I'll even throw in a 1st round pick! Whatcha say? Paxson: Um, no. <CLICK> Isiah: Pax? Pax, you there? |

I think it's one of those things like with the Yankees... the media assumes these big money, big market teams can just snap their fingers and they could get anyone.
But yeah, I do agree that the key to this whole thing so far is that the Bulls have sent word that they're not opposed to moving him. |

some how i knew that this would happen because it seems like we deal with the knicks every off- season in 2004 we traded with them to get rid of crawford then last year it was with curry what would be next? gordon. all of our good players are going to them at the time once they get there they suck.
