Interesting that we got some size with this 7'2 guy. I liked Eddie, but in reality, he would have got no minutes. |

Interesting deal... he was a projected lotto pick the year he was drafted. He is a good friend of Arvydas Sabonis, who is basically his mentor.
Nice pickup, we had absolutely no need for Basden. I expect Marty (yes, I'm going to call him Marty) to start the year in the D league. If he can bulk up a bit, he could be a very serviceable player. Right now he's a small forward with height of a center. Hopefully he can be taught how to use that height to his advantage. Only problem I have now is I'm probably going to need an avatar change because Luke is as good as gone. |

Good deal for the Bulls. They get a kid with a ton of upside and size, for a guy who was never going to see the floor in Chicago in Basden. Even if this kid sits for a couple of years, as he is only 20 years old, its a solid gamble by Pax.

This kid is a nice developmental prospect, there was some talk that he might be the #1 overall pick at one point. Obviously he needs to bulk up and learn how to be an NBA post player.

Great pick up by Pax. He could be a steal in a couple years.

Very good deal, trade a player who was on the verge of being cut, or sitting on the bench 99% of the season(if he wasnt in the D-league), for a high ceiling high potential big man with above average athleticism for his size, and a nice outside game. Now we need Marty to work hard on his post offense, and hope for the best to come around in a little while. He says his game is more appropriate for a PF, which is fine with me, as that is how I like a Center to play the way the game is going towards a vague roled big man(ala Amare, Bosh, Gasol, and to a much lesser extent Bogut and Bargnani)

Like I said, we should just call him Marty, hehe.
Or Sport Marty (doubt too many people will understand the reference) |

So, hopefully this means we've seen the last of Luke getting minutes?
Anyway, zero risk, high reward, nothing at all wrong with that. I didn't even remember this Basden guy. |

a guy with this much size is worth the little or no risk Pax is taking on this guy. You never know, he just may develop into a decent backup?!?

I kind of liked Basden but I still definitely support this trade. Kind of sad that both Wilcox and Gooden signed 3 year contracts with their teams.
