The ticketmaster ticketexchange is currently up and running. You can buy tickets from season ticket holders and get better seats, most STHs don't ask more than face unless it's a very popular game.

Jason,

Where can you find tickets being sold by season ticket holders? Thanks.

The Bulls need to stop being conservative with pay and offer the guys who are vital to the success of this team decent contracts.

The fact is that the Bulls would not have gotten to the 2nd round Playoffs without BG. And we will not continue to be successful without him, unless he's replaced by a superstar shooting guard, which I don't see happening at all.

Sure, Luol Deng seems to be attracting all the attention lately (and he deserves it), but we can't and won't get to the next level without BG's scoring. There are very few guards who can light up the scoreboard like him. And all the haters can STFU because his offense + unselfishness + work ethic EASILY makes up for his lack of defense.

The man deserves a new contract.

I personally was in favor of keeping Tyson after the Wallace signing. And after the drafting of Noah, I don't see why we just didn't keep Tyson in the first place.

Noah >> Tyson. Tyson's experience is no comparison to Noah's. Folks, you will see from his rookie year what he can do versus what Tyson did for the Bulls.

Although Joe Smith is a low-key player, it seems like he brings two key things to Chicago: leadership, and consistency. His numbers may look very inconsistent, but I think it relates to one factor and one factor only: playing time.

If you look at his time in Denver and Philly, he's played extremely well in games where he has been given significant minutes. Consider the last 5 games in which he was given 25 or more minutes:

1. (@ Toronto): 26 pts, 11 rebs, 4 assists in 40 mins
2. (vs Cavs): 17 pts, 13 rebs, in 37 mins
3. (@ Detroit): 13 pts, 9 rebs, 1 steal in 28 mins
4. (vs. Orlando): 7 pts, 8 rebs, 3 assists, in 27 mins
5. (@ Boston): 16 pts, 7 rebs, 2 assists in 25 mins

So, you see, if Joe Smith is given a consistent 25+ minutes per game (I'd say he should be getting around 30), then he can really make an impact on this team. Also, for many of these games, he wasn't even a starter. In Chicago, he would likely be a starter, and that should have a positive impact on his performance as well.

After taking a look into him, I now understand why Paxson got him. Solid player, fairly consistent, low-cost, low-maintainance, veteran leadership, and most of all, great personality to help mentor Tyrus and Joakim.

Good signing!

I really have a hard time understanding all the sentiments sentiments on this board.

What has Darko done to warrant so much love?? Forget the fact that he was a #2 pick. Nocioni >>> Darko. How can you all forget about Noch's incredible passion and energy? He's a 15ppg player. In the playoffs, he's a beast (except for this season due to obvious reasons). He's a valuable player to the team. I wouldn't trade Noch for Darko anyday. Forget about need. We have Tyrus and Joakim to fill those shoes, and I am confident they will do so effectively.

APPRECIATE NOCH!

24 pts, 8 rebs, 4 assists, 3 steals, 4 blocks against the Bobcats!!!

Wow.

Anyone know where to get game highlight videos? For some reason, NBA.com doesn't show any of the Bulls summer league games.

I really don't understand the point of this move. Why add another role player to the team? If Joe Smith doesn't bring serious defense or offense and is just another veteran big man who serves as a 'filler', why add him and further clutter the roster?

We have a handful of big men on the team with more than suffient potential. Tyrus is coming into his own, Joakim is going to have a solid rookie impact, Big Ben is always going to get his 10pts 10rbs, and we have a good and young backup center in Aaron Gray.

No need to clutter the 4/5 spots with guys who don't really address a need! Let Tyrus/Joakim handle the PF position. That will give both significant playing time and will have a big impact on their development.

I'm satisfied with the following starting lineup with the primary backups:

PG: Kirk Hinrich/Chris Duhon/JamesOn Curry
SG: Ben Gordon/Thabo Sefolosha
SF: Luol Deng/Andres Nocioni
PF: Tyrus Thomas/Joakim Noah
C: Ben Wallace/Aaron Gray

Either get an impact player, or stick with this roster. No more role players, please.

I'm torn between Ben Gordon and Kirk Hinrich. Kirk is the Captain, as the primary distributor and facilitator of the team, but the Bulls absolutely NEED Ben Gordon's offense to win. BG and Deng are the foundation of the Bulls offense, with Kirk and Nocioni as the second-tier offensive players.

In two years, I can very confidently say Tyrus will become the Bulls most important player.

A team of Ben Gordon, All-Star Luol Deng, potential All-Star Tyrus Thomas, and Captain Kirk Hinrich is an excellent young core. I'm sure Joakim will fit in well. It's like we have a College All-Star team!

Hm, really interesting. His game is very reminicient of Pau Gasol.

Unfortunately, not too many people know a whole lot about him, so he is a big question mark, but based on those short videos, he could turn into quite a steal if all we give up is Chris Duhon and someone like Malik Allen.

I think Paxson is inviting guys like Mihm and Joe Smith while showing interest in Moore and others as a coy downplay to what he really wants. Could be an interesting bilateral move by Pax because it leaves the media and other teams guessing who he truly wants, so that the price of getting that certain player doesn't get overvalued.

Should turn out to be very interesting whatever turns out from all this.

Memphis is obviously after Nocioni because he would be a logical fit to the open-court style offense Iavaroni is rumored to instill. He is good enough to start on the Grizzlies team.

Tyrus Thomas and Joakim Noah are also hands-down perfect for that type of uptempo open-court offense. Would a sign-and-trade with Nocioni, plus Joakim Noah and Tyrus Thomas be a fair trade for the Bulls to get Pau Gasol? If not, how about if we throw in next year's #23 pick?

Is that a good trade? And would Memphis accept? Noah would fit into Gasol's old spot, and Nocioni/Tyrus would play PF. Seems perfectly legitimate to me.

Salaries match as well:

Gasol = $12,364,000

Nocioni (in a sign-and-trade) = $7,000,000
Tyrus Thomas = $3,260,760
Joakim Noah = $???

As I've said a billion times before, let's just forget about all these trade scenarios, packages, and salary complications and KEEP OUR TEAM THE WAY IT IS!!!

Folks, we got to the second round of the playoffs and lost in SIX games. That isn't exactly a bad thing. No need to trade away guys or spend unnecessary money to bring in guys. Either directly address our need of a scoring power forward, or work with the boundless young talent we already have. Develop Tyrus and Joakim, and we won't need any Kevin Garnetts, Kobe Bryants, Pau Gasols, or Darkos on our team to win a championship.

If Deng gets over the 20 points per game mark, he will get a max contract.

I think he's peaking at the absolute perfect time. He will definitely be a 20ppg 8rpg player next season.

Folks, we have a well-balanced squad whose games have grown to fit each other. Captain Kirk, BG7, and Deng are the core of the team. Noah will soon contribute to that effect as well.

Well, now we can scratch off Lewis as a potential Bull.

Man, the East is getting considerably better. Knicks improved, Boston improved, now Orlando improved.

It's all good, because I think we have a team with Joakim now. I have full faith in Paxson's pick, and really think it was a smart one. He will impress in his rookie season.

What we're all forgetting here is that the Eddy Curry trade can't be looked at from a raw perspective. To the common eye, it appears we gained Tyrus and Joakim for Eddy Curry.

In actuality, we cleared major salary space with the Eddy Curry trade to get a temporary low post assistance from Antonio Davis, a veteran. When we traded away Tyson Chandler, we dumped even more salary cap space. Then what did Paxson do? Wrote a big fat check to lure Ben Wallace to Chicago. So the Eddy Curry and Tyson Chandler trades not only yielded Joakim and Tyrus, but cleared the way to be able to afford Ben Wallace while still keeping enough salary space available to possibly trade our accumulation of young players for a superstar.

Like countless media has already said, the Bulls have all the pieces to make a blockbuster trade. It all depends on Paxson's poker face now.

I still say Joakim Noah. Even though Hawes has a more defined post skill set, you simply cannot weigh that over Joakim's extremely rare level of experience. Any college player who was a key ingredient to his/her team's back-to-back NCAA championships is difficult to pass up in any NBA draft.

Combine his deep experience with the energy and hustle play that he has and his hatred of losing, and you have a very safe pick. You simply cannot pass up a player who was pretty much the face of college basketball other than Durant and Oden, compared to a college freshman who has nowhere near the same level of experience as Joakim Noah.

I think the package is a perfect deal for Minnesota. It's true that the whole idea behind unloading KG is to get young players. Well, they've always wanted Ben Gordon, who is a high-scoring AND proven guard who is still very young. They get Joakim Noah, a college superstar. They get veteran PJ Brown, and Nocioni, who brings pure energy and passion. Ben Gordon + Nocioni = 35 ppg.

I'd say it is a fair trade.

Minnesota gets:
Ben Gordon
Andres Nocioni
Joakim Noah
PJ Brown

Chicago gets:
Kevin Garnett
Corey Brewer

I think both sides win on that one. BG is a proven 20ppg scorer and Noch is also a 15ppg scorer with good defense. Joakim is all defense and rebounding, and PJ gives you 10 pts 7 boards per game. Not bad of a trade.

How about this trade. Does anyone think it can work?

Ben Gordon, Andres Nocioni, Joakim Noah, and PJ Brown (in a sign-and-trade) for KG and Corey Brewer.

This makes our lineup look like:

PG: Hinrich
SG: Brewer
SF: Deng
PF: Garnett
C: Wallace

That is an instant championship team. Corey Brewer, in my honest opinion, will make a case for Rookie of the Year. Yes, even against Durant and Oden. Plus he brings desparately needed size and defense to the backcourt, with a good set of offensive skills.

Make it happen!

No thanks. VC is way past his prime and will bring nothing to the table for us. Sure he's a veteran but we seem to be doing just fine without one.

I've said it before and I'll continue to say it: ADDRESS OUR NEED! A scoring PF is the only thing we need.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 26 2007, 12:08 AM) *
For us, that probably means minimally Gordon, #9, Noc, and some contract filler, and quite possibly Tyrus or Thabo mixed in there. That just doesn't make much sense to me. The problem is that we're basically compensating the T-Wolves for Garnett while getting Jermaine O'Neal. There's a fair gap in ability and durability there.

ZoomSlowik nailed it on the spot. While this whole three-way trade sounds very interesting, the trade is ultimately unfair for the Bulls. We are paying for KG, while getting JO. KG does not equal JO, so the Bulls are overpaying to get JO.

No deal. Unless Minnesota is willing to accept just Ben Gordon and the #9 pick. Which I doubt they would, because then they'd be getting Ben Gordon, #9 pick, and #19 pick in exchange for KG.

What do the Bulls need to be a serious championship calibre team? A power forward who can give us about 10-12 ppg and 5-6 rpg in the low post. A power forward who has good post moves and carries a high field goal percentage. A power forward who we can dump the ball down low to get high percentage shots when our outside shots aren't falling. A power foward who plays good defense.

What are we wishing/obsessing for? Kobe. A player who is a proven prolific scorer, but is a rogue to the team. A player who is a phenomenal athlete, but has proven to make bad decisions that revolve around the lack of being a team player. A type I don't see fitting into Skiles' tough mentality of team efficiency and ball distribution. He brings to the team someone who we can give the ball to in critical end game situations, but has proven to make bad decisions with the ball at times, proving the fact that he isn't exactly a player who is oriented around his team. He wants to become an icon of a city (which he already is), and to lead that team to a championship while being the icon, which isn't the mentality of any of our current players.

Therefore, ADDRESS OUR NEED, NOT WHAT WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE. Our team is as COMPLETE as any team could possibly be IF WE GOT A GOOD POWER FORWARD!

Our Primary Option: Draft Spencer Hawes.

That trade is asking for way too much. Shawn Marion is definitely an All-Star, but giving up both Ben Gordon and Noc is way to much for what he brings to our team.

BG + Nocioni = 35 ppg. Shawn Marion = 18 ppg. And that's because he played with Nash, who makes everyone on his team better.

My proposed trade would be Noc + #9 Pick + Chris Duhon for Marion.
