I am not 100% worried, but was just curious if anyone thinks the Celtics this year could possibly get close to, tie, or surpass the Bulls amazing season of 72-10? I am still waiting for them to be truly tested by some title contenders, but it is possible, no?
I'd give them a 3% chance of doing that. Ray Allen and Paul Pierce haven't been the healthiest of cats in their careers, one will go down eventually.
It really depends on the big 3, if they're not firing on all cylinders for a while they're going to struggle a bit. I gotta think they're going to hit a cold patch at some point. Their three stars carry an awfully heavy load, and eventually one of them will probably get some kind of nagging injury that either knocks them out for a few games or forces them to play at less than 100%. For that reason I also think that late in the year they'll seriously cut back on their minutes so they're rested for the playoffs, since at their current pace they'd dominate the East.
They're playing really well, but in order to tie/break the Bulls' record you have essentially no margin for error. IIRC the Bulls had a perfect record in three different months and won like 28 in a row, which is an absurd pace to keep up.
Nah our 72-10 will last for a long time the C aint that good
they will win 67
Not a chance
The Celts are 11-1 now, they didn't win their 11th game last season until January.
The Bulls went on a stretch where they won 31 of 32 games played in the 95-96 season.
That should put this in perspective.
