That's a perfect example of what fits in the Catch-All and does not merit its own thread.
Enjoyed nonetheless. |

Dang. That's not the best news for Noah's ankle. The fact that it's still not recovered is a bit alarming. I hope this doesn't turn into a Steph Curry situation. He really bent the heck out of that thing when it happened.

I was thinking about what turned us from a team that was tough but still barely a playoff team into the team that carried the best regular season record in consecutive seasons
2009-10 Lineup: Rose/Flip Murray Hinrich/Salmons Deng/Salmons Taj Gibson/Tyrus/Hakim Warrick Joakim Noah/Brad Miller Coach Vinny Del Negro 2010-2011 Lineup: Rose/Watson Bogans/Brewer/Korver Deng/nobody Carlos Boozer/Taj Gibson/Kurt Thomas Joakim Noah/Omer Asik/Kurt Thomas Coach Tom Thibodeau 2011-2012 Lineup: Rose/Watson/JL3 Hamilton/Brewer/Korver Deng/Korver/Butler Carlos Boozer/Taj Gibson Joakim Noah/Omer Asik Coach Tom Thibodeau Okay so looking at the big change in wins from 2009-10 to 2010-11, what is responsible? -Rose gets better (but let's remember he was DAMN good before) -Tom Thibodeau becomes coach -Carlos Boozer in at PF -The 2 guard position shuffles, not clear if improved, probably got worse IMO -Other players progress marginally -Bench improves somewhat by moving Gibson there, inserting Omer, Korver, Brewer Minor changes this season: -Rose same or worse (tough to say with sample size) -2 guard position improves -Bench more or less unchanged -Deng regresses due to injury So next season? -Rose is unknown, one can think that when he returns he could at least be at 2009-10 level -2 guard is not changed significantly, Rip gets older but Hinrich provides nice depth in the Brewer-ish role and still scores -PG depth improves significantly -Frontcourt unchanged if Omer returns, TBD if Omer leaves -Play from Deng likely to improve if healthy other questions remain |

QUOTE Danilo Mitrovic, Montenegro National Team director, on Bulls draftee Nikola Mirotic: "In my opinion, Mirotic is a bit angry at the Spanish Basketball Federation because he was not on the National Team for the Olympics. His place was given Serge Ibaka and this is why he was probably upset. I tried to contact him, but I could not get ahold of his phone number. I contacted FIBA, where I was told that the Mirotic must submit a request in writing and that way get a permission to play for Montenegro National Team. When he was registered by the Spanish Basketball Federation, there were many irregularities and the Spanish Federation had to pay a fine because of that." Kosarka.si If he's angry at the Spanish Basketball Federation could that possibly mean he'll wanna come play in the US sooner??? If we cant work out a deal with Taj and or Boozer gets amnestied next year it'd be nice to have him on the roster. If we have any bilingual people on board heres the full article http://kosarka.si/bo-nikola-mirotic-obrnil...l-za-crno-goro/ ...report back if theres any other news in the report. PS...I was gonna post this in the Mirotic thread but for whatever reason I can't go back to previous pages. |

The default is anything from the last 30 days. You can set it to 60 days, 90 days, etc. Then, you'll be able to see other pages of threads. |

What were the specs again? Wasn't it just 5 mill to buy him out and 5 mill for his actual contract?? It's not that simple. There are several issues... 1) His buyout is $3.149 million. 2) He's making about $4.5 million a year in Spain. 3) The Bulls CAN NOT simply pay his buyout. They're capped at a certain amount they can contribute without reprecussions. After that, they need some form of creating cap space to go over it, AND it would be subtracted from the amount they'd be able to pay Mirotic. For 2012/2013, that number is 550k, meaning Mirotic would have to come up with the rest. 3) He was a first round pick, so he's tied into the rookie scale contract (which is like $1.1 million). They can't just pay him whatever they want. Basically, he'd have to take a huge paycut and pay out of his own pockets to come here in the next two years. The absolute earliest you're likely to see him is 2014/2015, at which point the Bulls would have the option to sign him as a normal free agent. However, to do that they'll either need the full MLE (IE be under the tax) or have available cap space. |

The Bulls have allowed 100 points in 4 straight games for the first time under Tom Thibodeau. |
