QUOTE The former Chicago Bull, who wore No. 3 throughout his tenure in the Windy City, was unable to keep that number due to the presence on the Hornets’ roster of a certain star point guard. Chandler said he picked No. 6 because he hopes to be “twice the player with the Hornets that he was in Chicago.” i actually hope he is twice the player because i never wanted him to be traded and i felt like the bulls wernt doing enough to help him. he was my favorite player to watch because he always brought intesity and exitement to our team. i think he will be a good fit with the hornets, they seem to be very fond of him and have always liked him. i wish him the best http://www.nba.com/hornets/news/Chandler_Q..._20Jul2006.html |

Chandler always had a positive attitude and seemed like a guy that played hard. Of course he also was in constant foul trouble and followed some horrible advice this past off-season in which he listened to his agent and didn't work out until signing a contract.
That advice is probably the reason why he had all the healthy problems he did this past year (the breathing ones) and my guess is its also a large part as to why he's gone. |

thumping your chest, screaming after you dunk or looking frustrated bc you picked up your 3rd foul in 5 mins does not mean you play with heart or intensity.
If Tyson had either quality he might have improved 1 aspect of his game in 5 NBA seasons. His lack of development shows he had no commitment to the chicago bulls or advancing his game. I'm glad he's gone. |

The intensity and heart was pretty visible during his game saving blocks and the way he hits the offensive boards in the waning seconds of games... and I wouldn't be suprised if he has a Tim Thomas-esqu rebirth in n'alens... |

23 years old..
yeah. im going to agree with u guys... it seems like he didnt put too much effort during the off seasons... not compared to others to say the least... I know Chandler does have some post moves.. it seems like hes just a little bit intimadated to show them off.. when u have a role from ur coach that tells u: not to shoot unless u have an open dunk, pass the ball and let someone else get a better shot, if u do get the rebound and ur under the basket then pass it back to set up the offense again... that shows a lot what the coached think of u, it breaks ur self esteem... that can be hard for a young guy.... Its all in Tyson's head right now.. he needs to learn how to break that mentality breakdown he has. Tyson had a role.. just like Rodman did. Is anyone ever going to buy that? Im pretty sure Tyson can bust out that 15 footer jumpshot and and some decent post up moves in practice... but he knows its different in games.. Seems like theres too much preasure for him and he doesnt want to make a fool out of himself... Its all in Tysons head... Ill tell u what though.. Im pretty sure Tyson will work hard the coming seasons though.. He has a little chip on his shoulder. Believe it or not.. He does, He knows he has to live up that contract. He wants to prove to New Orleans something... what kind of player he is.. He wants to be part of of the offense more... like he was when Cartwright was coach and they actually ran some plays for TC (unlike Skiles) and im actually wondering right now.. why didnt they run more alley oops for Chandler this year... We all know he can do that well.. hes done it b4... he showed hes good at that.. I think Tyson will be a pretty good player in this league.. especially when hes 26-27 years old.. I bet hes going to be pretty decent.. Once he adds some weight.. cloggs up the middles.. pushes people around... I bet we'll see 13 rebounds from this guy.. and like 10 points... thats not bad if u ask me... Ben wallace #s... I even think hes going to have a type of season he had 2 years ago... probably even better.. and im sure everyone thought he had a pretty decent year that year.. or no? I wish Chandler the best of luck.. He'll have a chance to start something new.. something to prove.. I do Not think he'll have the same season as last year... The only question is how many minutes he'll get, Hornets have a couple of young big guys.. (I think Chandler gets the "go" here.. just for his known defensive precense) anyways. just my .02 cents. comments are welcomed edit: the game is so much different when the lights are shining on you and u have thousands of fans watching you. Tyson is still young and i dont see why he cant break that wall thats stoping him. |

The intensity and heart was pretty visible during his game saving blocks and the way he hits the offensive boards in the waning seconds of games... and I wouldn't be suprised if he has a Tim Thomas-esqu rebirth in n'alens... Just what I have been saying all along. For all the people who hated Chandler or felt he needed to go you will only wish we had kept him when you see how good he becomes. Ben Wallace is great and may give the Bulls a solid 2 years but come that third year his numbers will drop or injury will start to come in. Chandler was overpaid for what he was previously doing but I think in the long run he will prove that he wasn't that overpaid. Nene Hilario got $10 million and I don't think he is as good a rebounder as Chandler. Yes Chandler needs to improve offensively but on the right team he never has to be the go to guy. All Chandler needs is to be around another player who can score down low. Much the same way as Ben Wallace. When Tyson had Curry clogging the middle other aspects of his game flourished. Hinrich was able to throw him a few more alley's and he got a lot more putback dunks. And that is when they had Eddy Curry who may be the worst rebounding big man in the league. So if Tyson ever gets coupled with a good post scorer that is a good rebounder look out because he is bound to have a good career. I think David West is a good example of someone who can score and rebound. That should create opportunities for Tyson. However, West isn't the biggest guy around. I would love to see Chandler end up alongside one of the premier centers or power forwards in the league. Preferably a center because he really doesn't have the frame to play center at this stage in his career. Having to play center last year is a major reason why he was in foul trouble so often. Anyway, I guess only his play will ever get all the haters to stop criticizing and that is why I can't wait to see how much better he makes the Hornets. But then again I am sure everyone is going to say his improvement is because of Paul and Peja. |
