Gordon's MRI good news for Bulls
CHICAGO -- Chicago Bulls star Ben Gordon is listed as day to day after an MRI confirmed he has a strained left hamstring. Gordon was hurt in the second quarter Sunday, then sent Game 4 into a second overtime with a 3-pointer with 4.5 seconds left. The Bulls beat the Celtics 121-118, tying the series 2-2 with Game 5 in Boston on Tuesday night. The shooting guard was injured on a drive to the basket and an MRI Monday morning confirmed the initial diagnosis. Later in the game, he was knocked to the floor on a hard foul by Glen Davis with 9.8 seconds left in the first overtime. Gordon is the leading scorer in the series with 24.8 points per game and scored 42 in Chicago's 118-115 loss in Game 2. No where does this suggest he's got any chance of missing game 5. I consider the thread title deceptive advertising.

BG says he will play. I'm sure he will. When he hit that big 3 to force the 2nd OT you could tell he twitched that hamstring. He should play...but with with Ray Allen guarding him he'll have to work hard to get open. I hope Hinrich is up to the challenge because he's gonna have to step up for added scoring. Anyway...the Bulls are much better when they have 5-6 guys in double figures. Vinny has to have them mentally ready this time. Not like game 3 when they were forcing the action and had 15 turnovers in the first half! He has to help them channel their adrenaline into god decisions on the floor. Rose cannot get lost in the flow, he has to take it to the hole whenever he can! GO BULLS!!! THIS TEAM CAN BEAT THE CELTICS!!! |

I'm really worried about this, more so because he needs to be guarding Ray Allen very tightly. If the hamstring slows him down, Allen is going to be running around screens all day.

Update. Ok, you were right.
QUOTE Ben Gordon has played in all 82 games three times in his five NBA seasons, including this one, so the sobering account the tough guard gave on his strained left hamstring following Tuesday's morning shootaround at Emerson College is no idle chatter.
"Not good," Gordon said, when asked how the injury felt. "It didn't get worse, but it doesn't feel any better." Gordon didn't participate in the shootaround and said he's been icing the injury and using electrical stimulation to try to get the hamstring to respond. He will test what he said is a Grade 2 strained hamstring before Game 5. "It's my call, but I have to go off how it feels," Gordon said. "It doesn't feel good. Hopefully I can play. If not, we have Game 6 at home (Thursday)." Gordon suffered the injury during the second quarter of Sunday's double-overtime victory. He played close to 33 minutes following the injury but needed a painkilling shot at halftime to do so. "Maybe some of the pain and swelling wasn't there then," Gordon said. "The swelling got a lot worse. I'm hoping for a miracle." Coach Vinny Del Negro said Kirk Hinrich would start for Gordon if he can't play. |

KC Johnson was just on the score and says Gordon missed the morning shoot around and by the looks of things he will likely not play in game 5.
If Gordon doesn't play, the chances of us winning tonight is very unlikely. |
