Yeah...well, he could still be a slasher and go to the hoop at will. I'm not saying I actually want this. He is def. getting better at the 4 and will only continue to get better. I would be very happy with a starting 5 of Rose, Gordon/Hinrich, Deng, Tyrus, and Amare. You're right for the most part...the only thing I disagree with would be that he doesn't always have to take outside shots (even though his mid-range shot has improved) because he can still take it to the hoop using his athleticism.

The hot topics were the Heat-Raptors trade, which most players believed to be a step up for Miami, and a rumored Suns-Bulls swap that had Amaré Stoudemire and parts headed to Chicago in exchange for Tyrus Thomas and parts. This was considered enough of a sure thing that Chicago media folks were already making their introductions to Amaré.

A while back I was talking to another exec about the Bulls, and he mentioned that he didn't think Bulls general manager John Paxson was a lifer. He meant this in a good way, that Paxson had lots of outside interests and was a well-rounded person rather than a compulsive hoophead. Given that background, I don't find Friday's rumors of Paxson's stepping down at some point in the near future terribly surprising.

The impression I was given was that Paxson would try to quickly get the Bulls back to a point where he could walk away satisfied. If he were to pair Amare Stoudemire with Derrick Rose, I'd think he'd be in a position to do that; right now, the Bulls offer of Tyrus Thomas, Thabo Sefolosha and the expiring contracts of Drew Gooden and Cedric Simmons appears to be the leader in the clubhouse as we approach Thursday's trade deadline.

One NBA general manager said Portland and Chicago have the best chance to land Amare Stoudemire, while Memphis is also a contender. Other suitors reportedly include Cleveland, Detroit, and the Clippers.

"There's a lot of rumors about Chicago," said Stoudemire, 26. "A lot of rumors about Cleveland, Miami. Any situation for any team I go to, I bring a lot to the table."

Also hearing Monday or sooner an Amare to Bulls trade will be announced possibly involving Dudley and Amundson with Drew Gooden and Tyrus Thomas coming back along with another player.

I am not a big fan of this trade if that's what ends up happening.

What makes this interesting is this is the same site, the same guy that broke the Terry Porter news before anyone else did. Phoenix fans say this guy is pretty legit.

I guess we'll find out tommorow what happens.... I think its between us and Portland. I just dont think Detroit or Cleveland has what Portland or what we have to offer.

It all depends on how much they're trying to save money. That's the one thing we can't offer that Detroit, Cleveland, and Portland can; all 3 of them have bigger, this year expiring contracts than we do. But unless Portland offers up Aldridge, none of them can offer the talent we can offer up.

Talks between the Suns and Bulls regarding Amare Stoudemire have intensified, according to three people with knowledge of the situation told CBSSports.com.

Phoenix's interest in working with the Bulls on a trade is because of their presumed increased desire to acquire Tyrus Thomas.

One rival executive familiar with the talks said Portland evidently is no longer an option.
