Miami hasn't been a presence since the championship game against OSU, with all of their off the field problems. It seems like new coach Randy Shannon is really doing a lot early to strip the 'Canes of the thug image that's only increased the past couple of years. http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2007/07/25/...ers-hurricanes/ |

I know it's not a pretty trade, but I'm pretty damn happy with this. Anything to get SJax finally off the team is great. And though he can put up good numbers, I'm also ready to send JO packing for something too. I want the Pacers to be purged of anyone linked to Artest; it's for the best. |

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2694335 QUOTE Leather ball will return on Jan. 1 By Marc Stein ESPN.com NBA commissioner David Stern, in a stunning reversal, has decided to shelve the new microfiber composite basketball after just a few months of use and switch back to the old leather model for all games starting Jan. 1, ESPN.com has learned. The decision will be formally announced by the league later this week, according to sources close to the situation. Despite an avalanche of player complaints about the new synthetic model from the first day of training camp in October, skepticism was high among players that Stern would consent to a change during the season. But with a number of prominent players complaining of cuts on their hands caused by the new ball's high-friction cover -- Phoenix's Steve Nash and New Jersey's Jason Kidd among them -- Stern was forced to concede that an in-season swap was unavoidable with the new ball inflicting injuries. |

My name is Sedat and I'm - of course - a huge Bulls Fan. I'm turkish and my location is Germany. I'm also a big fan of the Fighting Illini basketball team. My favourite soccer Team is BVB, but that isn't very interesting for you guys, I suppose. Although my English is not the best, I will try to discuss lots of Bulls affairs with you. (This Smiley is great!) Welcome! |

what was there deal at the end of last year? even with Jermain oneal healthy and putting up 40 pt games... they still couldn't make the playoffs... We made the playoffs. And I'm very happy with the the Harrington deal, now that it's official and done. Without Harrington, we looked like we would have been a team outside of the playoffs and the tail end of the lottery. However, we're looking more like a solid playoff threat now. |

I can breathe a little bit. It was always thought Harrington was going to be coming back to the Pacers, but then he got a new agent. It was thought that would open talks up again with the rest of the league. However, it's being reported that the Pacers are close to signing AH again. http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti...018/1004/SPORTS Or not. http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti.../608190451/1088 |

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2543783 QUOTE NFL owners elect Goodell as new commissioner ESPN.com news services NORTHBROOK, Ill. -- Roger Goodell was chosen as the NFL's next commissioner Tuesday, succeeding the man who groomed him for the job, Paul Tagliabue. The 47-year-old Goodell worked his way from a public relations intern to perhaps the most powerful job in sports. He was elected on the fifth ballot among the league's 32 owners. ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports he was voted in unanimously on the fifth ballot. At that point, the last remaining contender was Gregg Levy, who serves as the league's outside counsel. The son of former U.S. Sen. Charles Goodell of New York, he has been Tagliabue's top assistant, particularly on expansion and stadium construction. In 2001, he became the NFL's chief operating officer. Goodell becomes the league's fourth commissioner since 1946. "We've had the two greatest sports commissioners in the history of professional sports, Paul Tagliabue and Pete Rozelle, and I was fortunate to work for both of them," Goodell said. "I look forward to the challenge and thank them again for their confidence." Tagliabue served 17 years, and during that time the league's revenues have skyrocketed. The NFL will collect about $10 billion in TV rights fees during the next six years, and enjoys labor peace with the players' association. "Replacing Paul was not easy, and I think we've done a great job in selecting Roger," said Washington Redskins owner Daniel Snyder. "The NFL is a complex business. Finding the right person to keep it on course was critical, and we did it." Goodell beat four other finalists: Levy; lawyer Frederick Nance; Fidelity Investments vice chairman Robert Reynolds; and Constellation Energy chairman Mayo Shattuck III. Goodell wasn't certain when he will assume office, although Tagliabue planned to leave the job this month. "I believe in continuity," said Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay. "It's a lot like with head coaches, and that's what Roger brings us." |
