Here comes the ol' NBA season and a legit title contender starts us off. Rose will play, says he's about 80%.

I have to ask...am I the only one who remembers all the times at the end of games where they'd draw up an iso play for Gordon, he'd get trapped/double teamed because everyone knew who would get the ball, throw up a prayer, and make like 20% of them?

You may realize how much in the season opener Thursday night at the United Center if the Bulls trail the Spurs by one point with 4.5 seconds left and the ball. Who takes the last shot?

Coach Vinny Del Negro's first option should be letting Rose create off the dribble. His second option could be John Salmons, Mr. Clutch in the playoffs who will get more shots in Gordon's absence. Did someone say Brad Miller was open on the wing?

None of the options Del Negro could draw up will inspire as much confidence as Gordon doing what Gordon did.

Well I watched the Spurs vs Hornets game last night and what is most important is definitely containing Parker and staying in the game early. Last night it seemed like the Hornets were down 20 points the entire game even though they were playing on par with the Spurs the entire second half.

Reading that article didn't make me miss Gordon... it reminded me of how much people thought he was great. I never liked him, he had too many low scoring/bad shooting games for my taste. I'd rather have consistency of someone like Hinrich than Gordon's hotstreaks. That said, I personally think we're a better team this year.

Gordon is ultimately replaceable, but they'll miss his ability to consistently pull shots out of his ass when he's on fire. They'll eventually need to find another consistently good scorer, Salmons and Deng are much better fits as 3rd/4th options and Tyrus is far too erratic to be counted on as more than a 5th or so on a good team.

If Hinrich was actually more consistent I wouldn't complain, but at least on offense he seemed to go up and down more than Gordon. 2007-2008, for example, was an abject disaster shooting for him, and that's the season where we were supposed to be a championship contender after knocking out the Heat the year before. His disappearance that year was a key reason why that team fell apart.

True, Hinrich isn't the most consistent player, but I HATED relying on Gordon to catch fire to win games. Now that they don't have him this team is much different IMO. I like having Hinrich at shooting guard because he won't try to create some ridiculous shot like BG would and I believe he is a much better passer. I'm pretty positive that the Bulls will score more this year AND shoot for a better %.

Noah starts off with a couple baskets and rebounds, then follows it up with 2 TO's.

Bulls not yet being blown out. Good sign. Scoring coming from lots of spots; 5 points from Hinrich and Rose, 6 from Deng and Taj.

Aside from Tyrus Thomas that was a fairly well-rounded half.

How did tyrus thomas go from 0 points, 2 rebounds, 0 blocks, and something like -6 to +7, 10 points, 4/9 shooting, 3 blocks and 5 rebounds in like 10 minutes?

This is a vastly better performance than I expected even while playing at home, given that we're playing a seemingly very good team.

Very nice TEAM effort. I liked what Collins said as far as it seeming that each other on this team was holding each other accountable. I really liked what I saw out there tonight. Nice balance. Nice versatility. A great start.

Gave up 28 to Duncan but still outscored the Spurs in the paint.
