I am probably in the minority here however, I would not make this trade. Nocioni is the type of player that most Chicagoans love because he is a blue colllar type of individual and plays with a lot of heart. Al Harrington may be a good player and who knows if he is any better than Andres truthfully however, Nocioni is a type of player that I personally do like and I am able to get behind and support. Not sure that Harrington would have the same impact in Chicago that Noc has.

I would be hesitant on aquiring Camby at this point and time. I also agree that he would be a good presence for this team however, concerns about his health and his age are just a bit too much to want to wait to overcome. There are better options available out there for us to get someone for the post versus who we have currently.

How quickly will Derrick be slammed when he does not deliver on what he wants within the first five years of his career? He unfortunately is adding to the pressure that he will be having to deal with by being a hometown product. Once Derrick does not deliver he will be crucified by most Bulls fans as being not what he is being billed as aka The Savior and most everyone will be wanting him moved for hopefully something better. I just hope that Derrick is able to prove me wrong on this aspect and being is Chicago it will be extremely difficult.

In regards to whether a journeyman player is able to be a decent coach is not completely known by me off the top of my head. I just felt that Del Negro was far too much of a reach for this team and do not think he will be that successful. I personally see the re-incarnation of Tim Floyd running this team once again. I again hope the Vinnie is able to prove me wrong however, lack of experience to any degree in coaching continues to be detrimental to any pro franchise.

It is not that I am expecting a title in 2009, it is just wanting to have a decent and respectable season. If you look at the moves that Pax has been making since the end of season, it just seems that this team in going downhill fast and not getting any better any time soon. Think about it, Derrick Rose is a hometown kid who the hometown team is looking to save this franchise. The franchise is putting a lot of pressure on this kid to be the newest phenomenon to this city and expectations will be far too steep for Derrick to live up to. It is the same scenario that Jarrett Payton would have gone through if he would have been drafted by the Bears. Unheard of expectations for an icon of this city. Not a good combination at this point.

That is the point that I am doing my best to express here Balta, not that I am expecting a chamopionship in 2008-09. Plus the hiring of Vinnie Del Negro is shocking at best. Del Negro was not much of a player and now he is a head coach with no experience anywhere coaching. Not a good combination in my book.

If you're expecting a title this season, you're going to be disappointed unless we trade Rose right now.

It just boggles my mind that everyone is so excited right now for a kid from home. It appears that they are appointing DR the savior of this city and team and that is a lot to ask of a kid. I would have preferred Beasley over Rose as I think Beasley is a beast and we need someone of his caliber. With a gluton of guards it will interesting to see what happens with this team. I just look at it that with a no-name coach, and a home town savior, this season is going to be very interesting.

I thought that they were insane when they announced after Charlotte got the number 9 pick and said we were in the top 3. Then to wind up with the #1 pick is just totally freakin' insane. Some body up above must be taking pity of this poor franchise. Now to decide on either Beasley or Rose is the question and either way it should improve this team to some degree!!!!!

This really sucks, for me when it comes to basketball and following our team Sam definitely had a unique perspective to share. While I did not always agree with Sam, his writing is enjoyable. Now I wonder who we are going to be stuck with that has the experience that Sam does. I don't know about the rest of you however, I am getting over Sam Zell as being the owner of the Tribune.

Van Gundy may be an interesting idea however, I do not think he is an upper echelon type of coach. I think he is similar in type of coach that Skiles was just not one to get us to the next level.

QUOTE (Wanne @ Jan 16 2008, 12:54 AM) *
Noc and Noah seem to be the only guys on this team with any heart. I think Pax's window has closed getting anybody worth a crap for any of these guys. My first order of biz would be shipping Wallace off to whatever contender (please Phoenix) for whatever and let Noah and Gray play.

I agree with you here. I also liked it when we signed Gentle Ben initially however, just like Sammy Sosa did Ben has worn out his welcome in Chicago. It is time for Pax to do what ever it is that he is able to in order to make some moves and get better citizens for this team. To have a so-called veteran laughing his ass off on the bench is totally unacceptable. Hell Ben Gordon should be shown the door as well. On the Trib's website little Ben says, "It is what it is." To me it just goes to show how much this team has fallen since they were outsted from the playoffs last spring. We need to find one helluva coach who is worth a damn, get some new energy and life into the players and realize that now is the time to start building for the 2008-09 season.

Not sure I would want to give up on Noccioni as someone already state, he is the only one who appears to have any fire in him this season. I would also hedge about giving up Deng at this point. Anyone is I would venture to say could be expendable at this point. The other thing to think about is how much time does Pau have left to play. He has been around for a while and we need some stability. Then there is the factor that we are playing without a true head coach. Staying the Status Quo once again is not acceptable and Pax needs to do something and make it quick to show that there will be a light at the end of the tunnel for 2008-09.

This team is slowly but surely becoming the laughing stock of the NBA. Fire Skiles which I did not mind however, not bringing in a real coach is continuing to hurt us. Pax needs to get off his ass and make some personnel changes and fast. Too many chiefs and not enough engines for this team. I think Noah is a good player who has emotion and shows it and the rest of this team is just lolly gaging it and being Jakkers!!!!!!!!!!!!! Something needs to be done and soon. At this point as Jim Mora Senior would say, "Playoffs? Playoffs? We're not ready nor good enough with this team. Playoffs?"

Kind of hard to get a coach who is currently under contract and having a descent season with the team he is now coaching. Remember Adelman signed with Houston last May and they are doing pretty well so far this season.

I like the idea however, do not think that it will happen. If I am not mistaking Larry would want more say on player personnel then a good coach with a GM would be allowed to have. Paxson is not going to loose his job at this point and that may be good or bad, we'll have to see. All I know is that Larry Brown will not be the next coach of the Chicago Bulls or any other team at this point. I think he has worn out his welcome as a coach in the NBA, as much as I still like the man.

I am happy to see Skiles gone. In regards to timing, it is the nature of the beast for a sport that plays through the wintertime. I think Scott did all that he could will he was here however, the way this team is playing right now, changes needed to be made and I think that this will be just the start of more changes. Skiles is not the complete fall guy on this I agree however, it has to start somewhere and Pax is the man in charge for Reinsdorf at this point and time and unless Jerry is not happy with Pax, it is what Pax feels is right. We'll have to wait and see who will coach this team next, I am not sure of who is available out there however, it is going to be interesting the rest of this season.

QUOTE (72-10 @ Dec 22 2007, 10:56 AM) *
this team won't stay together. with pressures from everyone/ everywhere pax. will pull a trigger with someone. they are already confused as to how to play TT and Noah together. despite wanting to believe this, i do not think we would go too far mainly because i consider deng alone pretty much (some help from Noc).--I think BG is awful. even if he has his 20 some points a game, he makes so many other mistakes and doesn't play D. i think our young guys are good, but we haveta make a move somewhere and probably will--if skiles goes, maybe that is another story.

To me that is the key, Skiles must go. I think what Scott has done since being named head coach has been good however, I do not think he is an elite caliber coach that will take this team to the next level. I also agree that this team has too many pieces to the puzzle that do not work and want to see some changes made. Pax needs to do something and soon before this season is totally lost once again.

I appreciate your optimism however, Houston is still playing far superior than we are at this point. I hope that the game is close however, I see us loosing by about 15 points tonight. Especially after being blown out by 25 by the newest class of the NBA, Boston. I just do not think Skiles in on the same page as his team any longer. We'll see what happens though and I hope that I am wrong in my thoughts.

Makes you wonder how good a coach Skiles really is at this point. Remember he was fired in Phoenix for something and now it appears that he is losing or has lost this team. Unless Ben is hurt again and they are not telling everyone, Ben needs to be playing as many minutes as his body will allow him to play. No way to make him a part time player.

We're going to lose by 20.

You really think that it will be even that close against the Pistons? It is going to be a long start to the 2007-08 campaign and it is pretty painful so far.

It just seems that Ben is the most expendable and semi trade worthy. I just do not think it would be a good thing if Pax traded away Deng.

Glad that they have already settled this issue before camp starts. I actually like the headband personally. It is a throw back to the old days when headbands were everywhere.

Damn it. I really don't want to hear months of the Kobe crap. We have our squad, lets go play.

I could not agree with you more on this. I am so tired of these rumors and speculation in regards to Kobe coming to Chicago. I personally think that he would be more of a hardship versus someone who would be beneficial to this team. Let's see how the season starts and if Pax needs to make some sort of move to improve us some more, do it before the trade deadline.

I have set up one Yahoo League already and would like to have members of the board join in. You are able to get to the league by going into Yahoo and using Fantasy League ID #4707 with the Password: bulls2007-08. For others that have mentioned on my main board posting, I will send out an email when we get closer to the start of the season and closer to the day of the draft. I have set the draft for Tuesday October 18th at 2:30 pm and will send out an email to the league one week prior to the draft, as well as the day before to remind everyone to be ready. Then when the season gets ready to start, I will email the league once again to be ready for the start of the season. Hope to have some of you join in on the annual Yahoo fun.

I am hoping that there are some takers here in regards to playing some Yahoo Fantasy Basketball. I have set up a league with Yahoo called Talk Bulls. The league ID is 4707 and the password to get into the league is bulls2007-08. I have set up a live online draft to take place on Thursday October 18th at 2:30 pm. Hope that there will be some takers as I have space for nine other players in the league. Looking to have some fun with other Bulls fans.

I am surprised that this has happened all though not shocked by it. Wonder if it was something left over or something that happenend during the rookie summer league. Either way this is a major blow to Portland and it appears that he will be out for a minimum of twelve months. Hope that he is able to come back from this and will be able to help Portland next year.
