I'd be ecstatic about Gerald Green in comparison to a lot of re-tread names we have been hearing.

At least he could this this every once in a while: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOzo4pHTZ-M

To me, it is worth the shot. With what you give up to get Dwight, even if he doesn't resign it gives you cap room in 2013-14 and allows you to do a semi-rebuild.

It also gives you the chance to spend a year smooching his behind to try to get him to stay here long term.

My feeling is that if you want to win an NBA title with Rose, this is your chance. What other chances do you have?

I have been behind this belief for a while now.

Even in the nightmare scenario where he does decide to bounce, you pretty much are just expediting your re-tooling process as it is.

And realistically if he comes here and actually has to play for an entire season and you can't convince him that Chicago is awesome, DRose is God, and he has a tremendous chance to win a title here then something is seriously fucked up.

That was my initial reaction too, but I trust the Bulls FO is smart enough not to just say f*** the surgery and have him back out there playing through horrible pain again

Thibs was on with Silvy & Waddle and said that he believes Deng will not be having wrist surgery after the Olympics.

Pretty great news if true

I'm very skeptical of the Rivers pick, especially since the Hornets intend to use him @ PG. Doesn't seem like that's going to do a lot to help Anthony Davis grow and develop on the offensive side. I like Rivers offensive talent but not as a 1.

Houston came out with a nice crop of talent in Lamb, Royce White, and TJones.

Waiters was a pretty massive risk for the Cavs. I like his game but obviously anytime you take a college 6th man with the #4 overall pick you damn well better hope it pans out.

Big fan of Jeremy Lamb, thought a month ago his stock would have ended up way higher.

The Bulls are expected to pursue Kirk Hinrich.

That's just a really embarrassing awful atrocious move no matter how you look at it. This guy has regressed horribly as a basketball player and really doesn't contribute much of anything on the floor. If you are bringing in a veteran ahead of Teague at least let it be someone who can f'ing contribute.

Not against the Ty Taylor pick but hes projected to be a mid-late 2nd round pick (nbadraft.net has him @ #56)...I wish they could trade Korver or Brewer for a pick around there. Taylor and D. Lamb/Jenkins would be a nice draft without trading up.

I'm always skeptical of nbadraft.net. DraftExpress has Taylor going 35th overall

I like Tyshawn Taylor and think he would look good on our roster and I would be happy with the selection. That said, if he is the pick at 29 I hope we acquire another late first or early second rounder to add a guy like Doron Lamb and then you have a very solid draft and two needed backcourt contributors.

I don't think of a typical Euro big man possessing the elite athleticism that Leonard has.

I saw a tweet the other day where an NBA assistant GM said, "If Meyers Leonard were black he would be the number 2 pick in the draft"

It'll be near impossible for the Bulls to do all 3 of these:

Keep Asik
Avoid the Luxury Tax
Sign anyone for any fraction of the MLE

Unless they can move one of their big contracts or they let someone like CJ or Korver with an option walk.

Right. The choice they face is either, move Deng, get rid of pretty much the entire bench, or pay a substantial lux tax.

Here is an article from Sam Amico at FoxSports talking about the possibility of the Bulls trading up: http://www.foxsportsohio.com/06/15/12/NBA-...amp;feedID=3725

Also mentions a couple of potential free agent targets.

I didn't realize that with the praise he was getting on ESPNU's broadcast of the Chicago Draft Workouts. Keeping that #29 pick might get us a useful player then.

Who could we get at #5 if that trade happens? Harrison Barnes is the hot name, but I'm not sure if he'll be there and I'm not sure if he's worth it.

If the Bulls were to get 5 there's a number of ways the draft could fall.

It seems pretty likely that 2-5 ends up being (in an unknown order): Barnes, Beal, Kidd-Gilchrist, Thomas Robinson. Any and all of them would fit with the Bulls to a decent extent, assuming Deng is dealt to acquire the pick. Beal would seem like a somewhat ideal fit next to Rose given his overall offensive game.

However, the entire top of the draft after Anthony Davis seems wildly unpredictable with pundits and talking heads having very little idea of where those 4 players are going to fall between the 2nd and 5th picks.

Do you think he'll make it to 29? Would trading up to 5 be too high?

Nice sig btw biggrin.gif

DraftExpress currently has Doron Lamb going with the 5th pick of the 2nd round, 35 overall.

NBADraft.net (less credible, but still something) has Lamb to the Bulls at 29.

I think from ~25 and down is where he might realistically fall.

Some of the names I have read quite commonly:

Doron Lamb, Jeff Taylor, John Jenkins, Tyshawn Taylor

I'm a big fan of Doron Lamb he does a lot of good things on offense that could really help this team off the bench and potentially as a starter down the line.

The Bulls front office took a trip to Nebraska to check out their new-ish top-of-the-line basketball facilities and also have plans to check out a couple more college hoops facilities.

From the sounds of it Reinsdorf wants to make it a major complex with entertainment and other amenities near the United Center.

-Rose is gonna be an absolute monster, God it hurts that he got out of state, but this is not about recruiting. smile.gif

-Besides the top guys I am a huge fan of your 8-10, love all of them.

-Big fan of Thabeet, obviously he is raw as fish but he could have a big year.

yeah, that is what I was getting at earlier. Someone is going ot see those names together and think that it is a good place to take a chance if they can't find the money they want somewhere else.

They are going to need it to happen, because no matter how much star power they have they still need some depth to finish in the top 3 or so in the East. At least IMO.
