He will be missed. As much as him leaving sucks, the team is in a much better position to add one max salary next summer. By the looks of it, we will have the 2 possition available to fill. One guy comes to mind- Wade!

Yuck.

I've been saying he's been over-valued for quite some time.

We'll see how overvalued he is when we can't score in the 4th and Salmons & Deng are forcing up bricks. This coming from the same guy that supported Thabo. Haha.

Seriously... for as many ridiculous crazy shots he's throw up at times..he drained some HUGE shots his time here.

Great thread.

People often forget...we didn't win until Ben Gordon got here. Ben was our best player his rookie year and he just brought a swagger with him. He acted as if we "should" win close games in the 4th quarter.

Through the years, the Bulls have had a go-to-guy in the 4th Quarter...it was #7. I'm very thankful BG was a Bull, but it's time to move on.

I still can't believe he's gone. mad.gif Below is a tribute video I found on YouTube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGlm-KgL7kU&NR=1

I want to believe that the Bulls are going to be better without BG but I just can't make myself believe it. How are we going to be better without The Rainmaker? Cheesy yes but true nonetheless.

BG got to play with Rose one year. One year. And they played well together at times and we made it to the playoffs. I've said it from day one and I'll say it again. The Bulls never put BG in a position to truly maximize his potential. I'm not sure Detroit will either but I have a feeling that Dumars will make the moves necessary to get the most out of BG. BG needs to be paired with a low post threat that can command the double team and with other shooters that create more spacing. The Bulls had shooters but not a threat down low.

After seeing how well Summers and Daye are playing in summer league (I didn't think Daye would be ready for the NBA) I really think the Pistons are going to have a better year than the Bulls. That is of course unless the Bulls trade for a big man like Boozer/Amare/ or Bosh. If the Pistons steal the Bulls thunder and land one of those guys watch out b/c the Piston's will be back in a hurry. I really think the Pistons will be making a move or two this year. I'm thinking that Prince or Hamilton will be gone (or possibly both) and I think Stuckey will be gone or become the backup later in the season. I think the Piston's will look to unload Prince/Hamilton and other parts for a starting PG in a sign and trade and for a big man like Boozer. If they do that watch out.

A young nucleaus of Charlie V., Daye, Summers, Gordon, Maxiell (off the bench), & Stuckey (if they keep him off the bench) and whoever they add via trade for Prince & Hamilton would be a pretty impressive lineup. If they can replace Prince and Rip's cap with a PG & PF that make the same or less they'll have a decent amount of cap room to add a pretty decent player next year. Let's just say that I agree with BG and have more faith that Dumars will do a better job of building a contender than JR, Pax, or Gar.

We will all regret the Bulls getting rid of Gordon. It will just take longer for many of the Gordon haters to finally realize it the hard way when Gordon is leading the Piston's to the playoffs. I pray that we don't have to play him b/c he's going to light us up.

If Gordon "leads" any team to the playoffs, it'll be no higher than a 6th seed. He's just not THAT good. We really need to get over it.

Detroit is not going anywhere, they're even smaller than the Bulls. They're not going to play any defense at all and if they do make the playoffs will get swept in the first round again. They'd have to make some pretty amazing trades to get good players for Prince and Hamilton AND save money, I would imagine that few teams will be taking on money.

If they can move Hamilton for Boozer it works. But that requires the Jazz to take on salary beyond this year.
