I truly believe this going to happen Monday and I'm so excited. Whenever I hear negative talk about Amar'e, I think of Rasheed Wallace. He came to Detroit from a Portland team that was by far a better than the Pistons talent wise. With Sabonis, Pippen, Steve Smith, Bonzi Wells, etc. They just couldn't get past Shaq & Kobe, and many good teams couldn't (another ex: Sacramento). When the trade first happened all they nay-sayers said a young piston team won't be able to control Sheed. It's a bad move. It won't get them to the Finals. He went to a team that had up and coming talent. What did they do? They eventually won a championship and beat the nemesis that haunted the Western Conference for many years. The Mighty Lakers. I could have easily used Chris Webber to prove my point when he originally arrived to the Kings but didn't cuz they didn't win a championship but came damn close. To me, that's what this deal means to me. Bringing a proven All-Star changes the mentality of how teams think about themselves. Days when Luol Deng can't find his shot and decides to hide for 4 qtrs, he won't be such a visible target to point the finger at anymore because we'll have that dominant inside/ outside presence between Rose penetrating, Stoudemire dunking, and kicking the ball back out to Gordon or Noce, or Hinrich nailing down three's. This could be the start of something huge! I just can't wait!

I agree that the bulls will win more games, but it's going to be close...You also have to throw cleveland into the mix. LeBron will be better and they will probably add some more help for him.

It's going to be a 3 horse race for the central, with the bulls finishing 1st and getting the 2nd seed in the east.

Help! They haven't brought in anybody yet, in a free agency pool that was already slim on talent. Why do you think Lebron went for the 3yrs w/4 yr option? It wasn't just for bigger bucks after labor agreements.

We completely crushed that poll nation wide. The only states that thought the Pistons would have a better record is Michigan and Alaska.

Maybe that was too overwhelming to swallow at one time for DA Bulls 88... lolhitting.gif

Maybe in the 07 draft, those two 2nd round picks with our 1st pick(via NY) can help us get at least a top 3 pick!

I agree, i think it will be:

Hinrich
Gordon
Deng
Nocioni
Wallace

Our frontline can put up good rebounding numbers as a group plus, create mismatches on offense.

Gordon's numbers already are better than Smiths, Not to mention he is a proven winner:

Was Tyson Chandler plus the loss of PJ Brown the best that the Hornets could do for Smith? it seems to hold up that his worth isn't that great right now.
Exactly. You don't have two GMs dump a guy in a week and ask about his "trade value". If he was that good, he wouldn't have been packing his bags in the first place, let alone again.

That avitar you have is about all that J.R. is worth.......One highlight dunk!

I don't hate it at all. If we were to keep Smith, where and when would he play? Its not like we have a bunch of guards that have reached their potential. They are still improving and we don't have time(meaning mins. on the court) to figure out what smith can do. I trust Paxson and Skiles 100%

That makes sense. I really don't think we need him. I really like Aaron Miles. I think he could legitimately be our #2 point guard. I was never a big fan of Duhon anyway. Maybe Miles comes in and plays well and it allows up to use Duhon and his $3 million as trade bait.

Dude, don't let this summer league make u think a.miles is better than Duhon!

I like when Kirk takes it too the hole but not when he tries to dribble and shoot from three or around 18ft. If he is open I have no problem with him taking the shot.

I hope Tyrus continues to shoot the ball. I want him to be the next Tim Thomas except more athletic and with a bigger heart

I would prefer for him to be a Kenyon Martin with less injuries!

We have [plenty of players to give us 10pts a night on the perimeter, we need that inside.

First off, Scottie is one of the greatest to play the game just give him his props!!! What makes him so unique is that i don't think you can put any other player with his great ability along side Jordan and have them mesh as well as they did on the court. He didn't get mad and leave like Orlando Wolridge. He didn't demand a trade like Shaq. He wouldn't be where he's at without Mike and Mike wouldn't be where he's at without Scottie.
As far as both repeat teams I think they both had great defenses. I don't know if Ron Harper was better than BJ or Paxson. He might have been before he got injured in cleveland (or LA i can't remember) but not when he got to the bulls, he did play good D but so did they. Cartwright over Longley. Kerr....he's ok i wouldn't say he's one of the greatest bench players ever. He's a better Bobby Hansen. Don't forget about Cliff Levingston and the 3pt champ Craig Hodges. Remember when Jordan retired Scottie traveled with BJ and Horace to the all-star game. I just think the 1st team was better.

++++Plus on a side note, the first team played against better teams in the finals. Lakers, Blazers, Suns better than Sonics and Jazz.

Paxson is gonna get somebody, but then again he might not. He might feel that with Big Ben getting some more touches inside and with PJ down low we might have enough offense in the paint. We improved in our slasher department through the draft (Sef) and through trades (JR), so our need to throw up outside shots should decrease. Plus we are a hell of a lot better on D! In the paint and on the perimeter, so it should create more fast break opportunities this season. We won't just be a outside shooting this year.

QUOTE (eddog2 @ Jul 12 2006, 06:47 PM)
If he didn't get hurt the Bulls wouldn't have made the playoffs. They only made the playoffs because he got hurt and Skiles had no choice but to play Chandler. That is when the Bulls defense picked up and they went on their winning streak.

I actually think Songaila was responsible for more loses then wins last year. He always tried to be the go to guy at the end of games. He played no D and he often turned the ball over at crucial times.

I wouldn't say him being injured is the reason we made the playoffs but I definitely agree that he is not what we need back. Yeah he can score, but he thinks he is a SF. He never banged inside.

I wouldn't complain if they moved Duhon or Smith to make room for him... (assuming they get reasonable value in return)

It would have to be for a starting PF (like Wilcox) Because i'm not willing to just give up duhon for the sake of adding miles.

Deeper bench maybe. Better I don't think so.

Kukoc and Kerr two of the greastest bench players ever.

You may have a point b/c of kukoc. He is the reason why we have so many foreign players now. Remember when the 1st Dream Team played Croatia and Mike & Scottie just shut him down! It made him scared to want to come play with the Bulls.

Luke Schensher-

We really need a 7fter for our 15th roster spot and it's basically his spot to lose and he's done a great job of doing just that.

If he could just have one decent game we coule all feel better about having him at the end of the bench. We really need someone his size, but if he keeps playing this horribly we could go into this season without a single 7fter on the team.

LOL!
