I'd say both are likely to wind up with fairly major contracts because teams that miss on the big 3 are going to wind up bidding them upwards. That's exactly what is killing the NBA in salaries right now. Guys like Lebron, Wade; legit stars are actually underpaid, but there are so few of them that teams wind up bidding like crazy for 2nd and 3rd tier talent (Deng, Gordon, Arenas, Hinrich are some examples we're familiar with) and digging themselves into deep financial holes because of it. ^^^ this. I would be willing to bet Joe Johnson for sure gets a max contract. Especially if the Knicks dont get one of the big 3. they will throw money at whoever to try and get something. |

Iverson was voted in as a starter. If he plays, then probably no Rose. what a joke.... he should back out, but he probably wont. thought this was interesting. look at the "Maybe next year" players at all 3 positions. http://www.nba.com/2010/allstar/2010/01/21...rves/index.html |

As most of you know the Bulls have not had an All-Star since the likes of MJ and Scottie. This year I think we have two deserving players in Noah (only behind Howard and Lopez IMO for the center position) and Rose (only behind Wade, Johnson and maybe Rondo). I find it hard to justify the NBA not putting Rose into this game but crazier things have happened. What do you all think? Is this the year?! |

heard there is a rumor floating around about a hinrich/thomas/1st round pick for bosh swap. My buddy said he heard about it on the score. Anyone know anything about this and if there is anything to it? |

Can Caron Butler play SG? Overall, the trade actually works; the Bulls would only be taking on about $100k in additional salary this season, but about $2 million in additional salary for next season, so I don't think it'd be making the bulls hit the Tax this season (although that's actually possible, Not sure exactly how close they are), but it could put another crimp in the Bulls' ability to sign a max contract FA this offseason. Why would the Wizards be interested in that move, is my question. I'm not sure. Would they be saving a decent amount of money thanks to insurance on James's deal or something like that? They save a couple million under the cap for next season, but that's a lot to give up for a small savings. They'd clearly be giving up the better players and they'd be taking on an extra year in Hinrich's contract. from what ive heard the wizards have been a big fan of hinrich and his overrated defense for quite some time. plus with butlers injury history it would be getting rid of one of many high injury risk players on washingtons roster. |

thanks for all the info. very helpful. so basically it boils down to having to trade deng and either salmons/hinrich to have any shot and getting 2 max contracts. seems practically impossible but man that would quite inticing for free agents next year. "Here Lebron, come play in a big market with Bosh and Rose." Ohhh what could have been. |

For those of y'all who are more familiar with the bulls salary cap situation, i was hoping you could answer this question. If the Bulls were able to get rid of a Hinrichs contract (or by some miracle, Dengs contract) would they have enough space to offer 2 max contracts next summer or something close to it? Thanks in advance for any info! |

Latest: According to SportsUnplugged via Twitter, Gar Forman is working on a 3 way deal that would bring Boozer to Chicago. Houston recieves: Tyrus Thomas & K Fesenko. Chicago recieves: Carlos Boozer Utah recieves: S Battier, Jerome James & C Laundry That would be unbelievable. |

this would be a great deal. like an earlier post said if he works out great, they can sign him to a long-term deal if not then he can walk. either way we should have money to sign him and another top flight free agent next summer. Rose, Wade, Deng/Salmons, Boozer, Noah sounds good to me! |
