If they were to match, this would be a critical point for the Front Office. Doing so would mean that one of a few things must happen for this not to be a simply terrible move: 1. Omer Asik becomes a much, much better player 2. We win a championship in the next two years 3. We are able to deal Asik away at some point and not have it be for another terrible contract Pretty much, and I don't think you can count on a championship this coming year. It just seems like a lot to me for a backup center. Plus every newcomer this year is a PG while they have three wing players on the roster, two of which are highly injury prone. |

If the Knicks decline to match Lin, I wonder what that does to Omer's offer sheet?

Knicks do not match Lin.
Lin is a Rocket. No offer sheet for Asik. Any chance they pull the offer? Any chance they told him in the first place that the offer was conditional? |

Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen
Once it is official on Lin, Rockets will have to waive one player, wait 48 hours, then sign Omer Asik to offer sheet and begin that process. |

I'm pretty sure you want Purdue players on this team more than I wanted Marcus Denmon. If you read the other thread I started you'll know I know nothing about these guys, other than I seem to remember some people wanting the Bulls to take Moore in the draft last year. I'm just going off what I read about Houston not keeping those 2 guys and the fact that they want Asik. I also read that Moore expects to be a Bull after his release, thus why not make things easier and just sign and trade Asik. |

I know there was one more. Still mad we didn't grab Denmon. |

JaJuan Johnson, though once again I dont watch Purdue basketball so I dont know if hes considered a C in the league. I'm just speculating since the Rockets plan on letting go of these guys and one already said he's going to Chicago then why not make it for a sign and trade. I'd rather have Stiemsma out of Wisconsin over Johnson though. |

Nah, wasn't it Hummel or something? Oh ya I forgot about him....Nothin wrong with wanting a few guys from a really good college team...I didn't know about all these exceptions the bulls had so I was looking at dirt cheap players when I mentioned Hummel. With the Bulls apparently having a Bi annual and a Trade exception I'd rather they use those and get quality guys like Belinelli and lets say Stiemsma for back up C. |
