David Aldrich is reporting it is due to health problems

Davide Aldridge knows as much as you or I about this. He hasn't been right on a single thing in the last 3 years yet they put this fool on TV. It isn't health problems, KC Johnson has confirmed this.

John Paxson will not be resigning after the trade deadline but KC doesn't know if he will be apart of the organization after the season. He says Jerry for a while now has been trying to talk Pax out of quitting. John's son recently joined the military and it's left a mark on Pax as far as family and his priorities. I was about sick when Bull's fans were booing him during Red Kerr's ceremony. I thought that was totally classless and distasteful for them to do that.

Then he ought to resign now and let someone else make the pre-trade deadline decisions.

If there is any fuel to this fire, I imagine he's not calling the shots right now. At least, I'd hope not.

Don't believe what you're hearing now. Paxson is in Phoenix at this very moment talking to Kerr to try and finalize a deal. I'm getting word that the Suns are also considering this crap deal from Cleveland. JJ Hickson + Wally Sczerbiak + 1st round pick. I'll just say it right now, if Cleveland comes away with Amar'e and they give up nothing in the deal, I'm quitting the NBA for a while. The Cavs board went nuts last night when 4 posters confirmed their sources that the deal is in its late stages. Bulls fans aren't believing it because it simply makes no sense. Stay tuned..

Cleveland can offer $5 mil more in cap space next year than us with the Wally deal. That could actually get the suns under the luxury tax. I'm not Sure Gooden's deal is enough given all the other players we'd have to send to match amare's salary.

This is why i hate the NBA's structure of swapping salaries. We often see more salary dumping than acquirering actual talent. That deal that sent Pau Gasol to the lakers for Kwame Brown was a joke. And if Stoudemire goes to Cleveland in a deal centered around Wally, that would probably be even worse....
The more and more i think about it, the less i blaim Paxson for this current mess. Its the fact that teams are more worried about being under the luxory tax than they are aquirering matching talent....
The NBA needs to change this system and soon!

If David Stern catches word of this he will veto the trade. A similar thing happened last year in the J Kidd trade when he vetoed Jerry Stackhouse going to New Jersey. I think all this Cleveland/Amar'e done deal thing is B.S and I don't believe it for a second. Cleveland has a pretty high pay roll and if they make that deal they will be paying a shitload of Luxary tax and Phoenix would actually have to pay more this season.

I'm just going to continue to believe Amare will either end up a Chicago Bull or a Phoenix Sun.

I could have swore that the veto for that trade last year came from Devean George exercising his Bird rights, not from stern.

Everything I've heard out here is the Suns also want young talent in return. This deal makes no sense for the Suns except from a financial standpoint. I call bs.

The hot topics were the Heat-Raptors trade, which most players believed to be a step up for Miami, and a rumored Suns-Bulls swap that had Amaré Stoudemire and parts headed to Chicago in exchange for Tyrus Thomas and parts. This was considered enough of a sure thing that Chicago media folks were already making their introductions to Amaré.

A while back I was talking to another exec about the Bulls, and he mentioned that he didn't think Bulls general manager John Paxson was a lifer. He meant this in a good way, that Paxson had lots of outside interests and was a well-rounded person rather than a compulsive hoophead. Given that background, I don't find Friday's rumors of Paxson's stepping down at some point in the near future terribly surprising.

The impression I was given was that Paxson would try to quickly get the Bulls back to a point where he could walk away satisfied. If he were to pair Amare Stoudemire with Derrick Rose, I'd think he'd be in a position to do that; right now, the Bulls offer of Tyrus Thomas, Thabo Sefolosha and the expiring contracts of Drew Gooden and Cedric Simmons appears to be the leader in the clubhouse as we approach Thursday's trade deadline.
