The thing is, you're not going to get the best of Wade and Rose if they play together as opposed to filling the roster with someone else. Not only would teams be able to seriously pack the lane unless the Bulls got Mehmet Okur, Chris Bosh, and a Jason Kapano on the outside, but both Rose and Wade need the ball in their hands for offense. Wade is better playing off the ball, but you're nowhere getting the best Wade by taking the ball out of his hands. The same goes for Rose. Both of their strongest assets is handling the offense.

As far as Ben Gordon, he only averaged 15 shots per game which was 2nd or 3rd lowest out of all guys who averaged 20ppg last year. Ideally, that's the type of guy you want as your SG with Dwyane Wade or Derrick Rose.

He just loves the city actually. He spends about 90% of his free time here. I always see him in Oak Lawn at the TGIF or at Arena Lanes, and if he's not there, he's building homes in Robbins, or he's hanging out in downtown. He's a Chicagoan who just absolutely loves the city.

Let's see, he runs an offense flawlessly, he plays better than "ok" defense, he's constantly working hard, his passing is probably best on the team(no one give me garbage about Hinrich being the best passer either because he isn't). Tons of teams would love to have Duhon run their offense. 3 million isn't much in the grand scheme of the NBA.

QUOTE (The Gladiator @ Jun 29 2006, 10:48 AM)
thats not entirely true, Im sure Jay Bilas knows a whole hell of alot more than you do and everyone else on this board. He may not be right all the time but most of the time he is.

Jay Bilas knows crap. He hypes up the college machine as much as Dicky V. He said Bargnani probably doesn't have much potential out of all the bigs the other day when lots of scouts think he has the most potential out of anyone in the draft. All of a sudden, Randy Foye became Dywane Wade when Bilas started talking about him.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 29 2006, 11:08 AM)
I'm going to guess he ends up averaging more rebounds than points per game.

That would be a safe guess.

As far as Tyson being better, I didn't only see it with my own eyes, scouts saw it too:

http://www.nba.com/bulls/news/saying_010629.html

QUOTE
What people around the country have been saying about two of the players the Bulls acquired in the 2001 NBA Draft- Tyson Chandler and Eddy Curry:

"I think Tyson Chandler is the best player (in the draft). He's 7-foot. He's got like a 9-foot wingspan. It's incredible. He runs like a deer, has the ability to handle the ball, take it from the wing, pull up and shoot jump shots. He is an NBA talent right now. You would not have a doubt about his talent right now."
- Director of player personnel from the Western Conference

"The pros really like Curry because of his physical presence, NBA-size body and his smash-mouth style of play. They see Chandler as a Kevin Garnett-type of a player who can put it on the floor, step back and hit the 17-foot jumper while also having a reliable jump hook inside."
- Van Coleman, national college recruiting analyst

"Tyson Chandler is a tremendous runner and shotblocker. But he has excellent athletic ability."
- Boston Celtics GM Chris Wallace

"Curry is an overpowering inside force."
- Bob Gibbons, national college recruiting analyst

"He (Eddy Curry) is physically stronger than Shaquille O'Neal was as a high school senior in 1989. Shaq was more athletic, but Curry is more physical and stronger."
- Bob Gibbons, national college recruiting analyst

"Chandler may have the best floor speed of any big man in recent memory. He's a new-look four (power forward). He's obviously not a power player, but because of his length and quickness, his ability to cover space in the lane and quickness of his feet, he can make an impact in the lane defensively. There are many successful fours today that are not power players, like Kevin Garnett and Rasheed Wallace."
- Jeff Weltman, Director of Player Personnel, L.A. Clippers

"Chandler's got the ballhandling and face-the-basket skills to be a small forward in the NBA, yet the body of a post player. His athleticism and end-to-end quickness will make him an instant hit."
- ESPN.com's Andy Katz

"Chandler's game has been compared to that of Portland's Rasheed Wallace and Minnesota's Kevin Garnett."
- The Press-Enterprise

"Eddy has a man's body and his strength is amazing. He can run the court well for a guy his size, and he is talented offensively. He can shoot the ball facing the basket and he finds ways to score inside."
- Brent Johnson, a scout for the Houston Rockets

"Eddy Curry has tremendous size and strength, even for the NBA level. He has very good hands and very quick feet for a player his size."
- Jeff Weltman, Director of Player Personnel for the L.A. Clippers

"Because of his uncommon combination of size and athleticism, Curry is considered to have the largest upside of any high schooler in the draft pool."
- Daily Southtown

Personally, Allan Ray & Darius Washington Jr are guys I would bring in. I'd probably let go of Pargo and trade Duhon if we got those guys. Darius is a Duhon with shooting ability. Ray was very underrated last year because of Lowry and Randy Foye.

Might I add Tyrus was only a freshmen who averaged 12 and 9 a Freshman! Who knows, If he stayed 4 years in college he could have averaged like 22 and 13 or something huh.gif

Im telling you, MARK MY WORDS Tyrus will not be a bust. Give him a chance you guys you wont regret it.

He was a 2nd year college player. He red-shirted his first year. I don't even think he's a Tyson part 2 because he was never as good as Tyson was.

QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jun 29 2006, 10:39 AM)
They already have had the best FG% defense for the last two years. That's pretty hard to improve on. We'd have to create more turnovers to get much better, and the new guys don't help with that much, especially since they probably won't get that much playing time early.

However, under 98 a game is pretty low for a team that's supposed to do something of note. They don't have a go to scorer, which is something that they need to go deep into the playoffs. They also have a low FG percentage, which is a symptom of not having post scoring. Getting another scoring threat like Aldridge would have at least helped.

Bingo.

One thing we got with our picks that we didn't need was defense. We already led the league in defensive FG% the last two years. We needed someone who could open up Ben and Kirk. Thomas doesn't do that. Sorry, Pax failed his first draft.

Still, Chandler is actually the hieght of a PF-C.

I honestly don't care which one of them starts. Tyson's a pussy but has that "barking game which supposedly equals emotion now" and Thomas does too. To me, it was a wasted draft by Pax.

Look at it this way, the Bulls added the 2nd pick to get Khryapa who I am convinced not a lot of people on here have seen before.

At 6-9 he has the height at least to guard 4s and is supposedly defensive minded. There arent a whole lot of devastating PFs in the East and the Bulls 2nd round picks the next year will be very late anyway.

He sucks. I've seen him play as Portland is my favorite Western Conference team(thanks to Pip). He's a body, but a waste of a roster spot IMHO.

2, 16 for 4, 7?

At 4 if Aldridge, Roy, and Thomas are there bulls are assured of 1, and at 7 they can take a big man.

Depends on what they really want I guess.

I'd definately do that.

Bulls need a balance in the frountcourt. We shouldn't give up Ben to get someone in the low post simply because then all that + will go to the inside and -'s will go to the perimeter.

Any big man will help Ben develop even further. He's a guy who should be untouchable.

Just to clarify, by "complementary player," I don't mean that he's just a role player. He can play a pretty big part on a good team, possibly a 3rd scoring option, and a dangerous one at that. I just don't see him being a Reggie Miller or Michael Redd type that is our primary option.

I disagree. I think he'll be a very good 2nd option for a team with a big man. He has a great shooting touch, and while there is still room for improvement, he's still pretty damn good.
