QUOTE DraftExpress.com - According to Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress.com, Phil Jackson believes Brandon Roy is the perfect player for the triangle offense and so the Lakers are talking with teams in the top 5 about trading up. One rumor has them sending Lamar Odom to Chicago in return for the rights to the #2 and #16 picks. This trade might have to be consummated after the draft, when Chicago has cap space to take on a bigger contract. Moving Odom’s $40 million contract would give the Lakers room to explore the talented free agent class of 2007. This may be where the obvious Brandon Roy to Chicago at #2 smokescreen started from. If this happend Tyson would deffinately be our 2nd string PF. We would deffinately get far into the playoffs (assuming we trade for a SG)... PG-Kirk/Duhon/Pargo SG-Ben/Player aquired from trade/pargo SF-Andres/Luol PF-Odom/Tyson/Malik C-Ben w/Tyson/Malik But i do think that our roster would be stronger if we kept our picks. Lamar Odom has been kind of an underachiever |

Not only do I not think Lamar Odom is worth a #2 pick, I don't think Lamar Odom is worth our #2 pick and ALL of our available Free Agent space and another first round pick.

Lamar Odom will not bring much to a team that has a similar player in Deng.
Unless Odom is going to score more down low than he normally does, he just adds a wing player to a team that doesn't need one. He's also an underacheiver with a "hazy" past and fills neither of our two needs. |

Let me get this straight...the Bulls #2 pick and 16...for upper mediocre to decent talent that is somewhat of a headcase, that is probably one bad drug test from being suspended?!? NO THANKS! I don't think Pax would touch him with a ten foot pole. Now if it were Crumbs on the otherhand....

Ahahaha. If we trade both our picks for Odom I will kill someone. That is absurd.

Unless Kobe is coming with Odom, Lamar isn't worth the #16 pick, let alone the #2 pick, let alone BOTH picks. This might be the dumbest rumor I have ever heard, especially when you factor in that the Bulls already have a log jam at SF.

What about #2 and #16 and Gordon for Kobe?
I'd do that. |

Hasn't Odom been suspended once or twice for drug use, as well?

This would be a terrible trade for us. I would trade our 16th pick for odom in a heart beat. But im sure if we take Lamarcus he would be able to put up the same numbers as Odom is. So in other words ODOM<LARMARCUS

Are you kidding me? #2 AND #16 for Lamar Odom AND his $40 Million Contract!
If Paxson made this deal, he will be running out of town! #2 AND #16 for Kobe AND his humongous contract, where do I sign? |

I hope not. Odom is a nice player...but he's not worth 2 draft picks. Also, he has a huge contract and isnt worth it. He is a sf...last time I checked we have 2 sf's that could develop into special players...why add a 3rd? Odom is not the low post scorer we need.
we would get fleeced in that trade. |

this trade rumor is garbage. why would we trade BOTH the #2 and #16 pick for Lamar Odom?? Odom is not that good, he is average at best and isn't that great of a defender. I doubt this trade happens. I do have a feeling a trade is going down, but not for Lamar Odom. I would much rather trade those 2 picks + Chandler for Garnett= an impact player who would imediately make this team a contender.
After we get Garnett, go out and sign Harrington to be our new PF and we'll be set. |
