Look Ben maybe being a Sixth man is whats best, we need that closer we had last season and if coming off the bench helps you be that closer, well sorry I do not think you should ever start.
Nice form on this thread.
Just wanted to point something out, though. We closed out games with defense last year. We led the league in FG% against, and we absolutely dominated in 4th Quarter FG% against.
I guess it's just philosophical differences. Defense rules all IMO, whether we're talking pitching in baseball, shutting down the running game in football, having a dominant goalie in hockey, etc. Championship teams are built with defense first and foremost. Gordon is merely a 3 point specialist who can hit some clutch shots. That's an important aspect in the big picture, but it's nowhere near as important as devastating defense.
Also, in the end, the vast majority of fans wouldn't be fans in the first place if not for players like Ben Gordon. By and large, people just ain't interested unless they are wowed by offense. The Spurs and the Pistons are boring, I know. That's what I hate most about NBA fans, but I am more that willing to live with the crap.
Alrighty then, rant over. Go Bulls.

That is the second horrible turnover for Hinrich where he threw it right to a Magic player
madisonsmadhouse
Mar 28 2006, 08:28 PM
Wow, Orlando returns the favor, and then decides not to hustle back on D as Deng gets a breakaway dunk. I am pissed off right now if I am either Skiles or Hill. This is a crappy looking second quarter.

madisonsmadhouse
Mar 28 2006, 08:42 PM
Bulls lead 57-49 at the half, capitalizing on a ton of Orlando turnovers. The magic took horrible care of the ball and it showed. The one big weakness for the Bulls was a bunch of missed WIDE open shots and layups, and they were terrible from the freethrow line again. Luckily Orlando really didn't go to Milic and Howard very much, so they didn't get made to pay for being in the bonus early in the second quarter.

Mar 28 2006, 08:46 PM
Leaders at the half for the Bulls...
Noc 16 pts
Deng 12 pts.
Hinrich 7 assist/ 5 steals
Duhon 4 steals
Sweetney 5 rebounds
Allen 4 Rbs

Mar 28 2006, 09:03 PM
Dwight Howard gets called for the offensive foul plowing over Noc. Bulls lead by 9 63-54
madisonsmadhouse
Mar 28 2006, 09:15 PM
Bulls lead 75-69 with about 2 minutes to go in the 3rd. Brian Hill needs to smack the crap out of his point guards. With the size mismatches they have against the Bulls, every single play should go through Howard/Battie/Turkalu/Millic, but you have Jamir Nelson chucking up crap everytime he touches the ball.
madisonsmadhouse
Mar 28 2006, 09:17 PM
Hinrich misses two more freethrows... The Bulls are now 11-19 from the line. If you want to know why this is not a blowout, there is your answer.

Mar 28 2006, 09:23 PM
Hinrich take a great quarter scoring and dishing and commits a completely stupid foul on Nelson 25 feet away from the basket to give Orlando 3 free throws with 2 seconds to go. Magic make it a 9 point Bulls lead at the end of 3 quarters.

It must be the 4th quarter because the Bulls are playing scared again... shot clock violation and two TERRIBLE shots on that possesion. Magic within 5 now about halfway through the 4th.

Orlando with two chances to tie, gets a turnover and a terrible shot out of it. Noc attacks the basket and gets the foul, he'll shoot a couple to try to open this back up. The Bulls have 3 points in the 4th in 9 minutes of play.

Mar 28 2006, 09:46 PM
Magic with a shot at the lead, can't do anything with it. Bulls call a TO to try to get something going.

Everyone is completely scared to take a shot now. Gordon finally hits a 3 on a WIDE open look off of a rebound to crawl back within one, and then Orlando hits a bucket to make it 92-89. 32 seconds left in the game, Bulls looking for a hero.

Bulls lose 97-93. They were 3-8 from the free throw line in the 4th quarter, without even mentioning what they shot from the field. Total for the game the Bulls were 15-28 from the charity stripe with Hinrich 2-6, Deng 2-6, and Duhon 2-4. That's pathetic.
